* Wild Meadow

I am still having trouble with Blogger.
I'm sorry, but I cannot comment on blogs that only allow Google account users to leave comments. For some reason, if you have comment moderation then I can comment. I have no idea why and any suggestions are most welcome!

Hello!

Today I am sharing another Inkylicious stamped card with you.

This time I used stamps from the Wild Meadow set.

My background is made from Distress Oxides, using the dab, spritz, smoosh technique on a craft mat! Once I was happy with the background I spayed it with water to bleach some colour out. The edges were then darkened with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide. The wild grasses were stamped, the ones in the 'distance' were stamped with Vintage Photo DO ink and Peeled Paint DO ink, whilst the ones in the foreground were stamped with Ranger Black ink. The sentiment is one of the four included in the set.

Thanks for stopping by today.

* Star Gazing Bear

I am still having trouble with Blogger.
I'm sorry, but I cannot comment on blogs that only allow Google account users to leave comments. For some reason, if you have comment moderation then I can comment. I have no idea why and any suggestions are most welcome!

Hello!

Today I have a card to share. I bought some new stamps from Inkylicious at a local craft fair last weekend. Inkylicious is a local stamp company and they have the best images and sentiments - I always spend way too much when I visit!

My card features a Splatter Circle background stamp with the Star Gazing Bear and the sentiment We Have Stars.

I used my stamping platform to stamp the background. The stamp was loaded with layers of Memento Ink and was spritzed with water then stamped. I repeated this twice, then added some Brilliance silver ink. The bear was stamped onto white card, coloured with Copic markers, fussy cut and glued onto the stamped background. The sentiment was heat embossed in black. I added some white Posca pen dots as stars and the occasional twinkling star and also some Stickles Crystal glitter around the ink splatters. I cut my card with a Sue Wilson square die and matted it onto deep blue shimmer paper then mounted it onto a 7 x 7 inch card base.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Hello!

Today we have a cute, new digi set release from Vera Lane Studio. It's called Ragamuffins and features a rag doll girl and her cat with a lovely sentiment.

I made a simple kinetic card:

The images are coloured with Copic markers and fussy cut to leave a thin, white border. The background was made by lightly braying acrylic paint, then stamping over with texture stamps and text. Torn washi tape grounds the images and for continuity I placed some along the card edges. The edges of the background are inked in black. The aperture slide was die cut and a piece of background card attached behind. The kitty is attached to two circles held in place with foam pads. He slides over to the left to snuggle up to the rag doll girl.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane.
It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Hello!

I am delighted to be a Guest DT at the Colour Crazy Challenge blog for the next three months.

The challenge is always Anything Goes, but of course your card must feature some colouring using any medium you wish. This week Bugaboo is the sponsor.

I was lucky to receive a digi stamp to work with and I chose Deer Duo. I decided to work with non-traditional Christmas colours:

The background is ink blended on Art Card using Distress Inks. I used a birch tree die to cut tree trunks out of kraft card; I added some Vintage Photo ink to the edges of the tree trunks to make them stand out a bit more. The digi was coloured with Copics and added to the background on foam pads for dimension. I added a die cut sentiment. I matted the scene onto kraft card, distressed and inked the edges and then placed it onto a white card base.

That's all from me for today!

Hello!

Only 5 weeks now until Christmas Day- are you ready yet?

If, like me, you're still making Christmas cards, then the new digi set release from Vera Lane Studio might be right up your street! It's Mr & Mrs Claus

I made a shaker card:

I coloured Mr & Mrs with Copics, added a few white Posca pen marks and fussy cut them. The background of the shaker is a little winter scene, made by blending Distress Oxides, spritzing with water to bleach out some of the colours and splattering with white paint for a snow effect. I die cut white glitter card to make a low, hilly landscape with some fir trees.
The frame of the shaker is a die from MFT and it took all my mathematical prowess to centre the sentiment and cut it at the correct angle! This time, rather than add foam tape to raise the top of the shaker window, I decided to die cut multiple frames, cut away the horizontal piece and glue them together. And, because I was ahead of myself this week, I left everything overnight to dry. Star sparkles were added as the shaker element and for once, they do not stick to the sides! Result!

Hello!

For my second post today I'd like to share a coffee themed ATC that I made for the Vera Lane Studio ATC swap. The ATC theme this month is Coffee or Tea and you can play along in our Facebook group.

I used Coffee Girl and the coffee shop from Tall Town as my images. I coloured them with Copic markers, added some Glossy Accents to the shop windows and some Stickles Diamond glitter to the girl's eyelids.
The background of the ATC is made with blended Distress Oxides (Vintage Photo, Spiced Pumpkin and Mustard Seed). I added some stamping in Versamark ink along the edges and heat embossed in bronze.
Once the images were fussy cut, the coffee shop was glued directly onto the background and the girl was popped on foam pads. The sentiment was inked and added at an angle.

Hello!

Monday again already, and so it's my day to share my DT make for Vera Lane Studio.

Last week saw the release of Cocoa and Latte, a whimsical, adorable couple of fairies for all the cocoa and coffee lovers!
I used Cocoa to make my card:

The image is coloured with Copic markers. I added Diamond Stickles to her wings and to the flower around her eye. White Posca pen highlights were made and the image was fussy cut. It is popped on foam pads onto the background.
The background was made by blending Distress Oxides (Vintage Photo and Broken China) and spritzing with water to beach out some of the colour. I added modelling paste through a stencil and love how it picked up the coffee colour! I also added just a little text stamping along the side edges.
I added some twine trim and a double bow, placing a flower at the bow's knot. Finally, I cut one of the sentiments into strips, inked the edges and glued it directly onto the background.

Isn't she cute!

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane.
It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Hello!

Today is my DT day at Gecko Galz and I have made a couple of Christmas cards.

Waiting for Santa

The gorgeous main image is from the Winter Wonderlands, a free collage sheet from the 2016 Blog Hop. I teamed this with some ephemera elements - all from Gecko Galz collage sheets (bingo card from Altered Christmas; the robin on a holly bush is from Winter's Garden; holly sprig and bow is from Christmas Haberdashery). The edges of the images were inked with Vintage Photo and the edges of the focal image were distressed with scissors. I laid the images onto red polka dot paper from my stash with a strip of gold sequin waste laid diagonally. Some elements were glued glued directly on to the background, whilst other were popped on foam pads for dimension.

Who doesn't love robins on Christmas cards? This next card actually uses one of the papers from the Garden Botanical paper pack as the image.

I distressed and inked the edges of the image and matted it onto gold card. A strip of design paper from my stash has been matted onto gold and placed vertically onto some entwined holly-embossed white card. For embellishment I added die cut pine cones and needles.

This retro lady Christmas card was the card I made as Customer Inspiration for the Gecko Galz November challenge which is Jingle All the Way. You can see more about this here.

This lovely lady is from the Retro Christmas collage sheet and I teamed her with some colour matching paper from the Winter Wonderland paper pack.

That's all from me for now!

I hope you'll join our Jingle All The Way challenge where the Winner will get
$25 shopping spree
at the Gecko Galz shop.

The only rule is that you must use at least one Gecko Galz product ...
