Conjurer of Dreams: Down the Rabbit Hole

Hello

Today I'm sharing some projects I made using Conjurer of Dreams images. I hope you'll pop over to the store and take a look at the Digital Art on sale for collage, scrapbooks, journals, cards and more.

The theme this month is Down the Rabbit Hole..

Here is what I made:

This is an altered, hardback, kraft, spiral-bound notebook (my favourite kind of notebook).
I only altered the front cover by adding some patterned design paper to frame the iimage. I created the image digitally using 3 sets from Conjurer of Dreams:  Dream Garden, Alice and  March Hare Tea. I added gemstones and metallic embellishments along with die cut Kraft lacy borders. The sentiment is a Tim Holts Idea-ology sticker.

Next I have a pair of treat boxes.

I used a Sizzix Pillow Box die and Papermania textured card to create the box, then die cut a lacy doily from pearlescent card and used a circle die to cut the Alice images. I added some die cut leaves and made tiny flowers with a pearl at the centre of each. The sentiment is a clipping sticker from Idea-ology. Polka dot navy blue ribbon was adhered around the box
and the topper popped on foam for some dimension.

Next I have a large 3D tag:

I used 3 different images from the Magic Mushrooms set to create the background and fussy cut one of the March Hare Storybook hares to pop behind some fussy cut mushrooms.
Crafty Animals #81 AG 26/03

***
Here are a couple of small notecards or gift card holders:

The Fairy Doors provide the background for the fussy cut Garden Gnomes.

***
And my last physical make is a set of bookmarks to celebrate World Book Day on the 7th March:

I used the beautiful images from Magical Library,. I simply layered them onto textured card and then onto a navy die cut tag. I used eyelets and threaded some Chipped Sapphire, dyed ribbon through to finish. I typed and printed some sentiments, cut them into strips and adhered to the images.

***
And finally my digital art collages.
The first three use these products:
Dream Garden and Fairy Doors. as backgrounds and
the characters are Alice, March Hare Tea and March Hare Storybook

***
The next two collages use Toadstools, March Hares Storybook, and Alice:

The next three use the Magical Forest background which Kim made just for me along with March Hares Storybook, Puss n Boots and Renaissance Animals:

That's all for now.

Crafts Galore Encore: Daffodils

Hello

Today sees that start of a new challenge at Crafts Galore Encore.

The theme is always 'Anything Goes' and you can enter up to 3 different projects.  The challenge runs all month until mid day (GMT) 30th March.

This month's challenge is kindly sponsored by SheepSki Designs.

Here is what I made:

It's a simple rocker card.
The digi is called Jo's Daffodils and it is coloured with Copic markers and fussy cut. I used patterned paper from the Crafty Individuals 'Springtime' paper pad for the background, inking around the edges in Tumbled Glass oxide ink.. I popped the daffodil image on foam tape for dimension and used a Tim Holtz sticker sentiment.

That's all for now.

Many thanks to Andrea at SheepSki Designs for her generous prize of 3 digi stamp sets for our random winner.

Please pop over to Crafts Galore Encore to see the DT's wonderful designs and to enter our challenge.

We'd love to see your creations.
Remember the challenge is always 'Anything Goes' and so you can create any type of project - it doesn't have to be a card and you can enter up to 3 times.

Thanks for stopping by today!
xoxo

Here is what I made as inspiration for the Customer Challenge.
(At the bottom of this post there are step by step instructions of how I made this.)

It's a window wallet mini book. It has an acetate window on the front cover.
The cover is a tag and the pages are an accordion.
The wallet booklet closes with twine wrapped around and tied in a bow. I used metal charms to add a little weight.

Really the photos do not do it justice. The cover and pages have a beautiful patina and shimmer.

Below are the pages in close up.
As the wallet opens the full image on the last page is revealed.

I added some die cut mushrooms and leaves (Sizzix Tim Holtz die), cut from Distress Oxide coloured card, and a tiny sentiment.

Each page has one of the Mushroom Maidens and extra foliage, mushroom and sentiment.

Here's the back of the wallet book:

Step by Step

Here are photos of each stage in the making of the booklet. They correspond to the steps listed below (individual photos are at the end of the post so you can enlarge and see the product I used and how I threaded the tie mechanism.

First: Cut a tag.
Mine is 8 inches x 4 inches wide. Scored at 3.5 inches and 7 inches - this forms the wallet with the end one inch as a tuck spot to keep the accordion in place when the wallet is closed.

Then: Cut 2 strips of card and adhere together to form the accordion.
My strips are 9.75 x 3.50 inches, scored at 3.25 and 6.50 inches. (Each page is 3.25 x 3.5 inches and there are 5 pages once the strips are adhered)

1. I smooshed the card into Distress Oxides (Pumice Stone first, then Frayed Burlap which oxidises to give a lovely patina) spritzed with water and used the dip, dab, dry method repeatedly.

2. a. When dry, I stamped with a PaperArtsy foliage stamp in Versafine Acorn ink.
b. The edges of the card and the folds were heat embossed in gold (for extra durability). Gold paint spatters were added.

3. Holes were punched and heat embossed for the twine tie mechanism.

4. A rectangle was die cut in the front cover of the wallet and an acetate window made.

5. The accordion was adhered inside the wallet to form the base of the booklet.
Decorate as you wish - take care to make sure your image shows through the window.
