* Vera Lane Studio: Summertime

Hello friends!

First, I'd like to say hello and welcome to Sherry Gibson - thank you so much for becoming a follower!

Today I'm sharing my Summertime themed cards for Vera Lane Studio.

Here in the NW of England the weather has been grim this last week. We've had wind and rain and now we're all waiting for the sun to put in an appearance. Meanwhile I've made my own sunshine with some gorgeous Vera Lane digis and bright, sunshine colours.

First up is Sunny - isn't she gorgeous?

All images are coloured with markers and fussy cut. Sunny was popped on foam pads whilst the other stamps were glued directly onto the background.

The background was made by die cutting a stitched rectangle and, whilst the die was still in place, inking it with distress inks and a blending tool. Water droplets were splattered and blotted to remove some of the ink for added interest.

I matted the image onto textured yellow card and then onto a white tent card.

Sunny and the bird were given Glossy Accent eyes and Sunny has glossy buttons too.

Sunny

Next up is Aloha Hula Girl.

The images were arranged how I wanted them, then printed. They were coloured with markers. The Hula Girl has Glossy Accent eyes and glitter applied to her flower lei and eye lashes. The image is popped on foam pads onto the background.

The background is made from Inkilicious Art Card which has been coloured with distress inks and a baby wipe. This was matted onto pink, tiny polka-dot paper and then attached to a 6 x 6 inch card base.

Aloha

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!
You'll find us on Facebook in a closed group, which I invite you all to join! You can find us HERE
I guarantee, you'll get a very warm welcome!

We currently have an ATC swap on Vera Lane, hosted by Nikki, and the theme is Summertime. Come and join us!

Thanks for stopping by today.

* {Pin}spirational Challenges: Roses

Hello friends!

First of all, I'd like to welcome 3 new followers:
* Beth Brovold
* Linda Kupstas
* Alexander Kretschamen
Thank you so much, ladies, for showing an interest in my little spot in blogland. I'm absolutely delighted!

Today is the start of a new challenge at

{PIN}spirational Challenges.

Challenge #192 runs for 2 weeks until 19th June.

Here is the lovely inspiration photo:

Our sponsor this time is Beccy's Place:

I was lucky to get a digital stamp called Wild Rose from the lovely Beccy, and here is the card I made:

I decided that since the image is so pretty I would simply print it, along with the sentiment, colour it with markers and die-cut it with a stitched rectangle die, then layer it. I used green textured card, black card and white dotty embossed card to build up my layers.
Here is a closer look at the image:

I was so enamoured with the roses, that I made a second card - this time without a sentiment and layered it with pink textured card:

That's all from me this time.
hope you'll pop over to
to check out the gorgeous designs by the rest of the DT.

We would love for you to take part in the challenge!

Thanks for stopping by today.

* SSS: Steampunk Bestie Boy

Hello friends!

I'm delighted to share my first post as part of the Scrapbook Stamp Society DT.
Thank you to Karin for inviting me to join the team!

The challenges are always Anything Goes, but as Father's Day is fast approaching, that is the optional theme for the next two weeks.

The Winners and Runner-Ups will receive My Bestie digital stamps from a selection on offer.

1 first prize: 5 digis
2 x second prizes: 3 digis
3 x third prizes: 1 digi
DT winner and Guest Designer: 2 digis
Runner-up: 1 digi

For more details, please pop over to the challenge blog.

Here is my card:

I used the Steampunk Boy Bestie (img 131) and coloured him with Copics, Spectrum Noir and pencils. I fussy cut him, leaving a thin white border which I then inked with Vintage Photo so that it would blend a bit better with the background paper.

The papers are from a digital set called Steampunk 1 from Imagine That. I inked the edges, again using Vintage Photo. I decided to add Glossy Accents to the eye on the paper and love the way it turned out! The image was added on foam pads to give some dimension.

 Die-cut cogs were heat embossed with gold tinsel embossing powder and randomly adhered around the page. A sentiment was printed, die cut and popped on foam pads.

After taking the photo I decided to add Glossy Accents to the boy's goggles and timepiece:

I hope you'll pop over to the Challenge Blog and see the DT's fabulous projects.
We would love it if you'd share your work with us!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Vera Lane Studio: The Traveller

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today at Vera Lane Studio we have the release of a new set of digital stamps called The Traveller. This little gal is so sweet - she's become one of my favourites already!

I made a bendy card with her:

I coloured the images with alcohol pens and fussy cut them. They are adhered directly onto the patterned background paper. The bendy card front has a small tab that fits into a slot to close it, but for posting it will lie flat. I added a sentiment behind the bendy front:

Isn't she adorable?

You can see a tutorial here for making a bendy card - mine has only one flap and I adjusted the measurements.

We have a new ATC swap just started on Vera Lane, hosted by Nikki, and the theme is Summertime. Come and join us!

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Crafts Galore Encore: Stained Glass Card

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's June already - just where did May go?
I'm hoping we get some warmth and sunshine this month.

A new month, of course, sees the start of a new challenge at
Crafts Galore Encore

Last month we had so many beautiful projects and we would love you to come and join in the fun!

As always, the theme is Anything Goes

Our sponsors this time are the wonderful Sparkle 'n Sprinkle

I was lucky to receive a digital stamp called Stain Glass Rounds to work with.

Here is my project:

I made a card and a tea light holder (only suitable for the battery operated ones!).

I decided to print the images onto vellum and colour with alcohol markers. I love the way the ink took on a watercolour look!

For the card, the image was adhered to a die cut aperture I made in the card, so that it replicated a stained glass window. I added an acetate butterfly and some pretty blossom trim.

For the tea light holder, I made a box with a base from card and again cut small circular apertures for the vellum to be taped behind. Another acetate butterfly was added and the trim flowers adhered separately this time.

I hope you'll pop to over to Crafts Galore Encore to see the DT's wonderful designs.
We'd love to see your creations.
Remember the challenge is always 'Anything Goes' and so you can create any type of project - it doesn't have to be a card.

Thanks for stopping by today!
xoxo

* Gecko Galz: Under the Big Top

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's June!!
Today sees the start of a new challenge at Gecko Galz.

This month our customer challenge theme is 'Under the Big Top', so we'd like to see all your circus themed projects.

I have a quick and easy card to share this time:

I chose two clowns from the Clowning Around collage sheet which I fussy cut and inked the edges in Vintage Photo. As the background paper is quite busy, I decided to mount my clowns onto black paper so that they would stand out from the patterned background. The black also makes the colours pop. The background paper is from the Life is A Circus pack and it was matted onto textured yellow card and then matted onto black card again before being adhered to the card base.
I made a banner with small squares of yellow card (edges inked in Vintage Photo), glued along a baker's twine cord. Black sticker letters were added to spell out the sentiment.

Clowning Around                      Life is A Circus paper pack

I hope you'll join our 'Under The Big Top' challenge. The winner gets a whopping $25 shopping spree at the Gecko Galz shop.

   xxxxx
The only rule is that you must use at least one Gecko Galz product (this can be one of the freebies, so check back through the blog and also look at the freebies on the Pinterest page, or of course you can buy at the Etsy store!)
Also if you sign up for the Gecko Galz newsletter, you'll be able to claim a free collage sheet each month.

Please hop over to the Gecko Galz blog to see the fabulous designs by the very talented DT.

We also have a Private Facebook Group where there are 5 monthly challenges, each with a collage sheet prize. Come and join us!

I'll be back on the 26th with more Gecko Galz projects.
Thanks for stopping by today.
