Gecko Galz: Springtime and Alice

Hello!

Today I'm showing my April Gecko Galz samples.

This month our customer challenge is Alice's Tea Party and these are my Alice projects:

First of all, I made a Pocket Letter and you can read the details about this here:

Next, I made an invitation card:

The main image is from the Mad Hatter Stamp Set. It was printed out twice - once for the background which was aged and distressed a little, using Vintage Photo distress ink. The second print was coloured with alcohol pens and the characters fussy cut. This was then adhered on top of the background on foam pads. The image was matted onto black card.
The background paper is from the Mad Tea Party Mini Paper Pack. This also was matted onto black card. All was adhered to a 6 x 6 inch card base along with a computer generated sentiment.

For my next makes I went with a colourful Spring theme:

I made two note cards which are pretty flat for ease of mailing.
The beautiful images are from a new collage sheet called Garden Time. They were simply printed, cut and matted onto black card. I chose vibrant floral paper from the Parade of Flowers Paper Pack which again was matted on to black card to make the colours pop. To add a bit of texture, a flower rosette was made by die cutting black and floral card. A sticker gem was added to the centre of each flower.

Also if you sign up for the Gecko Galz newsletter, you'll be able to claim a free collage sheet each month.

Vera Lane Studio: The Graduate

Hello!

Today I'm sharing another DT project for Vera Lane Studio.

Janet, the owner and artist at Vera Lane, is on a roll with cute, whimsical characters and this little graduate, from a set called Graduation Day, is the latest to join The Lane. It contains a girl and a boy graduate along with accessories and three sentiments.

I made an easel card:

Easel cards are one of my favourite cards because they are so simple to make, but look a little bit special. If you want a photographic step by step tutorial, look here.

The great thing about digital stamps is that they can be resized, reversed, and arranged before being printed. For my little graduate, I placed his degree scroll in one hand and his mortarboard cap in the other, as he jumps for joy.

I coloured the little graduate with alcohol markers (I'm absolutely delighted as I have bought some Copics and can't wait to add to my tiny collection). Once coloured he was fussy cut leaving a thin white border. As I planned to attach him onto a patterned paper background, I decided to mat the image onto black card first. He was attached on foam pads to the dp.

I used two of the sentiments from the set on the inside of the card. The 'Congratulations Graduate' sentiment is popped on foam pads and acts as the stopper for the easel.

{Pin}spirational Challenges: Psalm 91

Hello!

Today is the start of a new challenge at

{PIN}spirational Challenges.

Challenge #189 runs for 2 weeks until 3rd May.

Here is the inspiration photo:

This time we are sponsored by the wonderful Imagine That!  and the Cutting Cafe

I was lucky to get an Imagine That! digital set to work with called Psalm 91. It is so very beautiful and amazing value for money, containing a bird on a blossom branch in both colour and outline, plus seven sentiments of sympathy and encouragement.

Here is my card:

I chose to make a super quick and easy card. I used the .png bird on branch image and the .png sentiment and placed them onto pink butterfly patterned digital paper (from another Imagine That! set called Freda's Flower Basket), then printed them out. The green paper is also from Freda's Flower Basket. The papers were trimmed to size, the edges inked and matted onto black card.
I decided that I wanted a little dimension on my card, and so I printed the bird on the branch a second time, but this time I fussy cut the bird and some of the blossoms. The bird was adhered on foam pads and the blossoms were shaped and glued into place. Glossy Accents was placed in the centre of each blossom.
The completed card is 6 x 6 inches.

hope you'll pop over to
to check out the gorgeous designs by the rest of the DT.

We would love for you to take part in the challenge!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Vera Lane Studio: Blossom

Hello!

Today I'm sharing my DT project for Vera Lane Studio.

I made this card using the beautiful Blossom digi set.
Doesn't the little lady look happy walking through the meadow with the breeze in her hair and the butterfly floating by? It looks like a perfect day to me!  I have a friend with a May birthday and this will be just perfect for her.

The images were coloured with alcohol markers and fussy cut. They were arranged onto the cloudy sky design paper from Craft Sensations, which was then matted onto black card. I adhered the image mat onto co-ordinating striped paper using foam tape to give some dimension.
The complete card is 6 x 6 inches.
I decided to add one of the sentiments to the inside of the card in place of a greeting or verse.

Vera Lane Studio: Rainbow ATC Swap

Hello!

I'm sharing an ATC I made for the current swap aVera Lane Studio Facebook Group.
The theme is 'April Showers bring Rainbows' and Mischelle is the host.

I used this cute little girl called April from the Hello April set and coloured her with alcohol markers. I teamed her with one of the snails from the Snail's Pace set. They both have Glossy Accent eyes and April has glitter eyeshadow.
The background is a gelli print which was stamped with raindrops (stamp by Ryn) and inked around the edges. Washi tape was added to ground the images and for some interest around the ATC edges.

If You Give A Crafter A Cookie: Panda

Hello!

Today is the start of a brand new challenge at
If You Give A Crafter A Cookie.
I hope you'll join us.

You can enter your projects until the 3rd May.

Here is the cookie photo inspiration:

This time we are sponsored by Imagine That! and Fabrika Fantasy.

I was lucky to get a pre-coloured digital set from Imagine That! called Pandas to work with. This set is amazing value, just look what it includes (there are also panda outline stamps, so that you can colour your own!):

Here is my card:

The papers, image and sentiment came with the set, so all that I had to do was decide how to arrange them. I decided to place the .png panda image over the bamboo  paper along with the sentiment. This was printed out along with the plaid paper. I inked the edges of the image block and patterned paper, then matted them on black card. The image mat was placed on foam tape to add a little dimension and a ribbon attached along the left side and tucked beneath the plaid paper mat. All was adhered to a 6 x 6 inch card base.
This card looks lovely in real life. It was quick and easy to make and is fairly flat for easy mailing.

That's all from me for today. Now it's over to you...

Please pop over to the
If You Give A Crafter A Cookie
challenge blog to check out the lovely designs by the rest of the DT.

We would love for you to share your projects in the challenge!

You could win digi stamps or become one of our 'Top Cookies'!
