* Vera Lane Studio: Cats on the Block Pop-Up Card

Hello Friends!

I'm here again to share another DT post for Vera Lane Studio

Last week saw the release of Cats on the Block which is part of the VLS Planner Prop series. These are perfect for making paper clips and bookmarks, as they come in pairs, flipped horizontally, so they can be placed back to back. The thicker black lines also help with aligning the two images.
Of course, you can make cards, ATCs and journals with these images too.

I made two mini pop-up cards. The size of my image is twinchie sized (2 inches square) and the overall card is trinchie sized (three inches square).

For the background, I used snippets of card which had Distress Oxide inks applied. The twinchies were cut with a scalloped square die. This was adhered onto a trinchie scalloped  square. The cat images were coloured and fussy cut and glued directly onto the background. A chit chat sticker and a gel heart were added.

To make the pop up, I cut a strip of white card (3 inches by 6 inches) and folded it in half. On the fold, I measured to find the middle half inch, then used a steel ruler and a craft knife to cut parallel lines away from the fold to a length of 1.25 inches (Please note: the measurements will vary, depending on the size of the image you use) The cut section is now folded inwards and creased with a bone folder. Add some glue to the front of the pop-up strip and adhere the image. The pop-up will fold down when the card shuts. Glue the white card to the back of the kraft card.

* Vera Lane Studio: Blooming Cats!

Hello Friends!

I'm here today to share my DT post for Vera Lane Studio. This is my final Blossoms post as we end July today.
I made a couple of cards using the lovely Les Chat.

The background was made with Distress Oxide inks. Aren't these cats fun? Of course, like all Vera Lane residents, they have names; Franoise is in pink and Luce is in orange.  All images were coloured, fussy cut and popped on foam pads apart from the flowers which were glued directly on to the background.  I like to mix and match VLS digital sets to make little scenes: the flowers are from the Paisley set (not available in the shop at the moment, but by request from Janet Klein); the clouds  are from Beach Love; Franoise's sun is from Sunny and Luce's is from Kat.

SSS: Summer Bestie

Hello friends!

Today I'm sharing my DT project for Scrapbook Stamp Society

The challenges are always Anything Goes, but this time the optional theme is Summer.

The Winners and Runner-Ups will receive My Bestie digital stamps from a selection on offer.  For more details, please pop over to the challenge blog.

Here is my card:

The image is coloured with marker pens and then die cut. It was placed on foam pads onto a background made up from summery, yellow, glittered striped card matted onto metallic charcoal paper. The flowers are die cut, using a Heartfelt Creations die, from white card and inked with distress inks. They were also spritzed with Glimmer Mist to add some sparkle and pearls were added to the centre of each flower. The foliage was die cut from ivory embossed card.

The sentiment was made, using two die sets, from gold mirror card. Tiny crystal gems were added to the background paper and three hearts  were added to the image block.

I hope you'll pop over to the Challenge Blog and see the DT's fabulous projects.
We would love it if you'd share your work with us!

Thanks for stopping by today!

* If You Give A Crafter A Cookie: Santa Mug

Hello friends!

Today is the start of a brand new challenge at
If You Give A Crafter A Cookie.

I do hope you'll join us.

You can enter your projects until the 9th August.

As always, there is a photo inspiration, and here it is:

Our generous sponsors this time are Limited Runs and Cute AS A Button.

I used the Santa Coffee Mug from Limited Runs for my card:

I used the coloured version of the Santa Coffee Mug. I printed it out twice and added some extra colour to the red mug and to Santa's face with copic markers.  The red mug was given a coat of Glossy Accents. Santa's face was cut from the second print and Fluffy Puffy Stuff was applied and heated to form the trim and bobble on his hat. Iridescent glitter was added to his beard and moustache. The face was popped on foam pads to give the mug some dimension.

The background was created by inking Art Card with Peacock Feathers and Danube Blue inks.  Some die cut white card to replicate snow drifts were adhered. Santa was placed in the centre of the card and the die cut sentiment was added.
A mat of black and red card was made before it was adhered to the card base.

That's all from me for today.
Now it's over to you...

Please pop over to the
If You Give A Crafter A Cookie
challenge blog to check out the lovely designs by the rest of the DT.

We would love for you to share your projects in the challenge!

You could win digi stamps or become one of our 'Top Cookies'!

Thanks for stopping by today!

* Gecko Galz: July Samples

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today I'm showing my July Gecko Galz samples.

This month our Customer Challenge  is A Mermaid's Garden and so my first cards are on that theme:

I made a shaped card using a large die and black card. I chose a beautiful image from the Pretty Mermaids collage set - I love the iridescent-look of the image and added some gold embossing powder to bring this out. I rounded the corners of the image and adhered it to patterned paper from the In Marble Halls Paper Pack. Some black card, die cut leaves and flowers were added and a jumbo pearl.

Here is the inside:

My next card uses a vintage digital stamp (SS47) from the Splish Splash stamp set:

I feel that there is a story behind this image, but I am unaware of what it is. I coloured the image with marker pens and added plenty sparkle with a Quickie pen and iridescent glitter. I matted the image on black card and used patterned paper from the La Isla Bonita Paper Pack as a background. This was layered onto black and then green paper and added to a card base. Some green sparkly trim was adhered beneath the image and three crystal gems at the top right side.

This image shows the sparkle a little better:

My next project is a card featuring a silhouette image (SO6) from the Charming Silhouettes Stamp Set:

Again I made a shaped card out of black card. I chose a silhouette stamp, printed it out and dried it with a heat tool. I then inked it with a blending tool and distress inks. Once it was dry I clear heat embossed it to give it some shine. I matted it onto black card and then onto patterned paper from the La Isla Bonita Paper Pack. Die cut foliage and flowers were added along with some crystal gems. I decorated the inside too:

My final project is a small collage:

I had my eye on this beautiful image of a woman from the Deco Art collage set. I decided to put together a collage and so set about finding some green Gecko Galz images (some were from the La Boheme Digital Kit and some from the Parisian Garden Digital Kit). The background paper is from the Gatsby Paper Pack - I distressed and inked the edges and layered it onto ivory card which was also distressed and inked. I started by placing some raffia ribbon across the paper and added some cream cotton lace.
The images were fussy cut and the edges inked with Vintage Photo distress ink. I shaped the flowers with a stylus and foam pad and added a small pearl in the centre of each. The butterflies were also shaped and just the centres glued down. The words are from the Charming Words collage set. Green and ivory ribbons were tied around the binder ring clips.

I hope you'll join our 'In A Mermaid's Garden' challenge.
