Gecko Galz: Peace on Earth

Hello!

Happy November!

A new month brings a new challenge at the Gecko Galz blog and this month the theme is Peace on Earth, so this is the perfect chance to get out your Christmas craft stuff and get cracking on some card making or house decorations.

I really don't know where October went - time is flying by faster than usual, so this month I only have one Gecko Galz project to share. Hopefully, when I'm back on the 22nd November I'll have a few more to share!

Here is my Peace on Earth card:

The lovely digital image is from The Reason for The Season collage sheet. I matched it with two different papers from the Victorian Christmas paper pack.
I distressed the edges of the image and inked with Vintage Photo. I matted it onto two gold, die cut doilies which I pieced to make into an oval shape. This was popped on foam pads onto the darker red paper and the corners of the paper were gilded. The dark red paper was popped on foam pads onto the patterned red paper and this in turn was adhered to gold textured paper and adhered to a 6 x 6 inch white card base.
I die cut the sentiment from the the Christmas Sayings stamps and foiled the edges, then I made two red poinsettia-style flower with a glittery snowball bead in the centre of each and die cut some gold leaves to tuck behind the sentiment.

Here are the Gecko Galz products that I used:
The Reason for The Season        Christmas Sayings                Victorian Christmas

  5. I so love that sweet card, Carole! I've been watching carefully what the team is making for this challenge - I've needed to see how strict to interpret and am relieve not too terribly strict. Been having a problem with that lately. xoxo

    1. Thank you Amy - I think anything Christmas related would be fine for the challenge as long as it is nothing frenetic! Look forward to seeing what you make! xx
