* Vera Lane Studio: Hello October

 Hello

A warm welcome to Susan Jimson, my new follower.

For my DT post for Vera Lane Studio this week, I have created a journal page featuring the little girl from October and the spooky tree and moon from Halloween Night.

I coloured the images with Copic markers and Polychromo pencils. The background was made using PaperArtsy Infusions spritzed with water. I added some Brusho Gold pigment and some Brusho Iridescent pigment to give some shimmer. Some stamping was added in black using Janet Klein's O and X stamp set from AALL & Create.. The elements were fussy cut and adhered to the background.

I love the rich autumn tones created in the background.

That's all for now.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

* Path of Positivity: Greek Window

Hello!

Today is the start of a new Path of Positivity challenge.
The challenge lasts for the month of October.

This month the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of
Fall into a Book.

Prizes this month include:
  • FOUR images from Ike's Artour guest sponsor for this month, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • ONE image (value of $5 or less) from Scribbles Designs, for the post or project that the team deems most inspiring of the bunch based on all qualifying entrants.
  • One digital image from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for each person chosen as a DT Delight.

Our optional theme this month is
Fall into a Book.

We want you to make a project inspired by a book or a story. Getting lost in a good book is a great way to relax and find some positivity. The written word can transport you to many places, whether fictional or non-fictional. Sit back, open a book and let it lead you down the Path of Positivity.

I used Greek Window from Ike's Art to make my card. The book I was inspired by is Gerald Durrell's My Family and Other Animals'. I first read this at school in English Literature and I was hooked - not only was I reading a good story, but I was learning about sunny Corfu and its wildlife as well as the escapades of the dysfunctional Durrell household. In no time at all I had devoured the following two that make up the Corfu Trilogy books, "Birds, Beasts and Relatives' and 'The Garden of the Gods'. Now I am, of course, a huge fan of the TV series, The Durrells.

My window scene is coloured with Copic markers and die cut. I matted it onto dark teal card as i couldn't find any card the kind of turquoise that you see painted on Greek doors and windows. I embossed some card with a Tim Holtz 3D embossing folder and coloured it to resemble stone. I added a stamped sentiment.

Many thanks to Ike's Art, this month's guest sponsor,

and to Scribbles Designs as the ongoing sponsor of the challenge

We would love to see your creations!
Just make sure that your entry is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way!

That's all for today!

I'll be back with a another Path of Positivity project in a couple of weeks time.

Thanks for stopping by today!

* Vera Lane Studio: Hope

 Hello

Welcome to my DT day at Vera Lane Studio.

Today Janet Klein has a new digi set release called Hope. It's a gorgeous little girl, with a very contemplative expression, patiently waiting for her flowers to grow. It has a beautiful sentiment.

I decided to go with bright autumnal colours today as the weather here is rapidly becoming cooler and the leaves are just starting to turn golden.

I coloured Hope and the flowers with Copics and fussy cut them. The background is brayered PaperArtsy Chalk Fresco paints. I added some tone on tone stamping to the background and used the same AALL & Create stamps to stamp around the edges in black. White splatters finish the background and a piece of torn washi tape designed by Bipasha BK for AALL & Create grounds my images.

That's all for now.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

* Crafts Galore Encore: Sending Love

Hello

Today sees that start of a new challenge at Crafts Galore EncoreThe theme is always 'Anything Goes' and you can enter 3 different projects The challenge runs all month until mid day (BST) 30th October.

Hetty Clare is kindly sponsoring this month's challenge.

Here is a card I made with Sending Love:

I coloured the image with Copic markers and die cut it. I added a scalloped die cut mat cut from design paper and inked around the edges. The background was made with a stencil which I inked and spritzed with water. I then ran it through my die cutting machine to emboss the pattern.

The sentiment is die cut from design card and has a white underlay.

My second Hetty Clare card for Crafts Galore Encore is here.

Many thanks to Helen at Hetty Clare for sponsoring the challenge.
