* Vera Lane Studio: Unique Succulents

 Hello

Today at Vera Lane Studio we have a new digi set release. It is Unique Succulents and has a sweet boy in his truck delivering succulents plus three sentiments.

I made a journal page:

Isn't he the sweetest boy!

I used Copics and Polychromos to colour the truck and made a stencilled background using PaperArtsy Golden Sands Infusion pigments. I added stamping using AALL & Create stamps and added some white Posca pen splatters.. I cut a strip of background card and added it on top of torn washi tape for the grounding.

The sentiment was cut into strips, adhered and outlined with a fine liner.

That's all for now.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Vera Lane Studio: Miss Dee ATCs

Hello

Miss Dee has been around Vera Lane for a while, but has recently become very popular with the AALL & Create stamping community, so Janet, the artist behind her, has created some new digi sets to depict what this no-nonsense, 'tell-it-like-it-is' lady gets up to.

I made a couple of ATCs.

First up is Mama Dee:

She's a hoot ... I wonder what the little girl is thinking :)

I coloured the images with Copics and popped them onto a stencil stamped background made by smooshing ink onto a stencil, spritzing it with water, then stamping it onto white card. I added some white splatters and some stamping in black around the edges using Janet's X or O stamp set. Bipasha's Power Words washi tape acts as grounding for the pair.

Next I have the original Miss Dee:

Her sentiment makes me smile! She, again, is coloured with Copics and has a stencil stamped background with extra stamping around the edges.

Frida

 Hello

The challenge at Lost Coast Designs this fortnight is Strong Women

I made this small Frida notecard:

I smooshed, dipped and dabbed Distress Oxides onto white card to make the background.  I then stamped this lovely Woodcut Frida from Lost Coast Designs. I stamped it again onto smooth, white card, fussy cut around Frida and glued it on top. The sentiment is a Small Talk sticker which I think is apt, as Frida was a very strong and brave woman. I matted my piece onto black card and popped it onto a custom made card blank.

That's all for now.

* Path of Positivity: Precious Friend

 Hello

Welcome to the May Path of Positivity Challenge.

Our challenge is always Anything Goes with an optional theme.

This month's option is to design a project that focuses on celebrating something special about our friends.

Honours and Prizes include:
  • $6 worth of images from Scribbles Designs, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • A badge for the following honours: Top PickVoter's ChoiceMost InspirationalRandom WinnerDT Delight.

I chose to make a Polaroid slide depicting some of the character traits of my best friend.

I used a Vera Lane Studio digi stamp called Ground Music and coloured her with Copic markers and Polychromo pencils. I fussy cut her and popped her onto an inky square made by stamping Oxides with a stencil from AALL & Create. I added some white paint spatters and some black stamping around the edges.
My little cutie is grounded on torn washi tape and she has Tiny Talk sticker sentiments. Below I spelled out 'Precious Friend' using Tiny Type stickers from Tim Holtz.

We would love to see your creations!
Just make sure that your entry is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way!
The link up is here: Challenge #101 Path of Positivity.

That's all for today!
Many thanks to Scribbles Designs for sponsoring the challenge.

I'll be back with a another Path of Positivity project in a couple of weeks time.

* Vera Lane Studio: Gemini Tag

Hello

It's new release day at Vera Lane Studio today and this time it's the turn of the lovely Gemini twins.

I made a tag to add to my zodiac tag book.

These girls are the cutest!

I coloured them with Copic markers and Polychromo pencils, then fussy cut them. Their background was heat embossed in white using an AALL & Create stamp, then smooshed, dipped and dabbed in Distress Oxides. I added some of Janets 'X or O' stamping in black to the edges and some torn washi tape to ground the twins.. The girls were popped on foam to give some dimension.

That's all for now.
I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Crafts Galore Encore: Fun Faces Diamond Point Card and ATCoins

Hello

(My Gecko Galz post is here)

Today sees that start of a new challenge at Crafts Galore Encore

The theme is always 'Anything Goes' and you can enter up to 3 different projects The challenge runs all month until mid day (GMT) 30th May.

ElenaZinskiArt is very kindly sponsoring this month's challenge.

Here is my project using one of the fabulous Fun Faces and Doodles

I tried a new-to-me fold for my card. It is a Diamond Point Card and I found the tutorial at Beccy's Place here. I chose double sided patterned paper to match the colours of this adorable pre-coloured digi stamp. I love quirky girls and Elena's girls are very quirky and beautifully coloured (but she also sends line drawings for you to colour yourself)

I also made 3 ATCoins using the same Fun Faces and Doodles collage set:

The faces were printed at half size and fussy cut. The backgrounds were made by smooshing white card into puddles of Distress Oxides. White gesso was applied through a stencil and some black stamping was added to the edges.
The images were popped on foam tape for dimension and sentiments from Elena's One Hundred and Fifty Quotes and Sentiments set were cut into strips, adhered and outlined with a fine liner pen.

Many thanks to Elena at ElenaZinskiArt for supporting the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge.

Please pop over to Crafts Galore Encore to see the DT's wonderful designs.

We'd love to see your creations.
Remember the challenge is always 'Anything Goes' and so you can create any type of project - it doesn't have to be a card and you can enter up to 3 times.

Thanks for stopping by today!

* Gecko Galz: Paris

Hello

May is here and we have a new customer challenge at the Gecko Galz blog challenge. The theme this month is La Vie Paris.

We also have the monthly Image Challenge and the monthly Christmas Image Challenge, as well as 4 Facebook challenges.
We hope you can find some time to join in the fun.

The winner of the Customer challenge will get a $25 Gecko Galz Etsy Store voucher and the runner up a $12 voucher. There are plenty of free Gecko Galz images if you don't already own any. Each blog post has a free image to collect and, if you sign up for the monthly newsletter, there is the chance to claim a free collage set each month.  Also if you make any purchase of $2 or more you receive a free image.

I made a decoupaged card for my customer inspiration project:

The background is paper from the C'est La Vie ATC sheet - I digitally resized it to fit my 5 x 7 inch card. I also digitally added the Eiffel Tower silhouette..
The ladies, from the Sweet Fashion collage set, were also resized, to give the illusion of perspective, then fussy cut and inked around the edges. They are popped onto foam pads to give dimension.
I added two faux French stamps from La Vie En Rose and a shop bought sentiment circle which I inked.

C'est La Vie               Sweet Fashion

That's all for now!
I hope you'll join our La Vie Paris challenge where the winner will get a $25 shopping spree at the Gecko Galz shop.

The only rule is that you must use at least one Gecko Galz product (this can be one of the freebies or, of course, you can buy at the Etsy store!) Also if you sign up for the Gecko Galz newsletter, you'll be able to claim a free collage sheet each month and get first claim on the monthly $1 deals!

Please pop over to the Gecko Galz blog to see the fabulous designs by the very talented DT.

We also have a friendly Facebook Group where there are 4 monthly challenges, each with a collage sheet prize.
Do come and join us!

I'll be back on the 20th May with more Gecko Galz projects.
