* Vera Lane Studio: Hyacinth

Hello!

Today at Vera Lane Studio we have a new digi stamp release. It's the beautiful Hyacinthus. It's perfect for all your spring cards!

Here is my card:

I love the fragrance of hyacinths and especially love the violet blue and purple ones.
 I coloured my Hyacinth with Copics. She is on a gelli print background which was made in three stages, allowing the paint on the plate to dry between layers and stencilling and pulling the print from the third layer whilst the paint was still wet. I added some stamping and doodling to the gelli print, along with some modelling paste through a stencil, and inked the edges. The sentiment was cut into strips, inked and glued down along with some Copic dyed flowers and a piece of ric-rac ribbon to ground my Hyacinth.

The sentiment puzzled me initially, so I had to 'google' it to find out that it is about making yourself content or happy. The first loaf of bread would feed you physically, but the second could be sold to buy hyacinths which would feed your soul and give you pleasure. Such a wonderful sentiment!

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!
