* Gecko Galz: Asian Beauties

Hello!

Welcome to another new month - May already - isn't the year flying by!

This month at the Gecko Galz blog we have a new customer challenge and the theme is Asian Beauties.

Firstly, I made a set of ATCs:

I love making ATCs -  they are so easy to create and, of course, great fun to swap.
For this trio I used the Asian Words ATC Collection for the backgrounds. I cut the ATC papers a little smaller than ATC size so that I could mat them onto gold cardstock for an oriental look. I distressed the edges of the papers with scissors and inked them with Vintage Photo. The main images are from the Little Asian Girls and Beautiful Asian Ladies collage sheet. They are fussy cut and inked and popped on foam pads for some dimension. The butterfly embellishments are from the Butterfly Kisses collage sheet. I added some gold stickers, some pearls and words.

Here are the ATCs in close-up:

Next is my Asian Beauty themed card:

The wonderful image is from Beautiful Asian Ladies. I added some glitter to her head-dress and earrings, then inked the edges of the image in black and matted it onto black paper.
The background paper is from the Zen Garden paper pack. I printed two rectangles, so that, from the second one, I could fussy cut the stem, flowers and leaves. The edges of the paper were inked in black and matted onto black paper, and then onto gold card.
I popped the image on foam pads onto the paper background, then added the fussy cut stem and flowers to overlap the image - again popping this on foam pads.
The whole was then placed onto a black card and a fussy cut butterfly from the  Butterfly Kisses collage set was added.

Products used:
