Gecko Galz: Let's Go on Safari

Hello

We are fast approaching the end of July and there is still time to join the fun at the customer challenge over at the Gecko Galz blog.
The theme this month is

As always, we also have the monthly card challeng.ethe monthly Christmas Image Challenge, the monthly Stamp Challenge, an ATC challenge, a Steampunk challenge and a Gothic Challenge on the blog, as well as 4 Facebook challenges. These can be accessed by the tabs at the top of the main blog page.
And, new for this year, we have a new challenge, the quarterly challenge.. This quarter the challenge is to make an altered mason jar.
We hope you can find some time to join in the fun.

The winner of the Customer challenge will get a $25 Gecko Galz Etsy Store voucher and the runner up a $12 voucher. There are plenty of free Gecko Galz images if you don't already own any. Each blog post has a free image to collect and, if you sign up for the monthly newsletter, there is the chance to claim a free collage set each month.  Also if you make any purchase of $2 or more you receive a free image.

I made a number of projects for this theme.

I used glorious animal images from the Safari Jewel It set for these notecards and I used Out of Africa ATC backgrounds which I enlarged. I matted onto kraft card for a more natural look and choose hessian trim, sisal fibres and natural florals as embellishments.

Monochromatic Cards:

The backgrounds use paper from the Wild Things ATC set (above) and Out of Africa ATC set (below). The images are from the Safari Jewel It set. I matted the images and the papers onto black card and added floral embellishments and grey pearls. The sentiments are stickers.

I made a loose leaf journal page.

I extended the left hand side of the background by duplicating and patching together the background of the leopard image from the Safari Jewel It collage set.  The safari adventurer was fussy cut and adhered, whilst the tail of the leopard was cut out and placed over the Atlas she is scrutinising. I thought the sentiment from Girl Power Sentiments, was perfect for this scene.

This is an ATC which opens up.

The zebra is from the Safari Jewel It collage set and he is set atop some background paper from the Out of Africa ATC set. The Safari girl is from the Into the Wilds collage set - she was printed twice, once in reverse, so that she could be placed back to back on the front flap of the ATC which opens outwards.

I also made two digital collages which I blogged about here:

That's all for now!
I hope you'll join our Safari Fever challenge where the winner will get a $25 shopping spree at the Gecko Galz shop.

Please pop over to the Gecko Galz blog to see the fabulous designs by the very talented DT.

We also have a friendly Facebook Group where there are 4 monthly challenges, each with a collage sheet prize.
