* AALL & Create: Spring Showers Bring May Flowers

 Hello!

Please let me welcome my new follower Gail Hutchinson. It's a pleasure to have you here, Gail!

Today I am sharing my GDT project for AALL & Create.

I made a lovely spring card for a May birthday featuring the Happy Dog and some flowers. I had a lot of fun mixing and matching words and letters to make the sentiment.

How adorable is this quirky Happy Dog! His bright yellow umbrella is a reminder that sunnier days lie ahead. He stands on torn washi tape.

The numbers and circular stamps inside the dog image are repeated in the geometric background with the tiny stamp from set #453 Heart Grunge and with #8 washi tape.

The small, but beautiful flowers from # 451 In The Bucket make a little carpet atop the washi tape. Posca paint pen dots form the stamen centres.

The words from #455 Seasons along with just the word 'Flowers' from set # 332, Birthday Blooms, are arranged to make the sentiment.

Work in Progress:

1. Fresco Acrylic paints were brayered onto a gelli plate and the stencil was added on top. The triangles were removed on a sheet of paper and a print taken.
2. The tiny stamp from set #453 was added around the edges of the gelli print.

3. Lined Triangles were randomly stamped using Oxide ink and washi added to ground the images.
4. Later I added torn washi around the edges of the background as well.

5. Happy dog was stamped and coloured with Copic markers. He was fussy cut.

6. The small flowers were stamped, coloured with Copics and fussy cut.

7. Words were stamped and arranged to make the sentiment.

Stamps Used:
#322 Birthday Blooms
#451 In The Bucket
#453 Heart Grunge
#455 Seasons
#459 Lined Triangles
#483 Happy Dog
Stencil: #105 Lotza Triangle
Washi Tape: #8 Hedging

* Path of Positivity: Little Camper

 Hello!

Today is the start of a new Path of Positivity challenge.
The challenge lasts for the month of May.

This month the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of
Change Your Environment.

Prizes this month include:
  • TWO digital images from All Dressed Upour guest sponsor for this month, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • ONE image (value of $5 or less) from Scribbles Designs, for the post or project that the team deems most inspiring of the bunch based on all qualifying entrants.
  • One digital image from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for each person chosen as a DT Delight.

Our optional theme this month is
Change Your Environment.
This could be going for a day out or taking a holiday,. It could be going for a bike ride or a walk. It could be changing something at home - decorating, painting, gardening. Or it could be making changes to help save our planet.
There are so many ways you can interpret the optional theme this month. We are waiting to see your take on the theme.

Please remember ...
... in order to be eligible for the prizes your project must be positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way.

I have to admit I was spoiled for choice with all the lovely stamps at All Dressed Up, but I decided upon Little Camp
What better way to change your environment than by travelling to somewhere different, pitching a tent and spending a few days in the fresh air. Being outdoors, walking and exploring is good for the soul and it clears the mind. It doesn't have to be far away - just a change of scenery does you a world of good!

Here is the card I made with Little Camp:

I coloured her with Copic markers and fussy cut her. I added her to a background that was lying on my desk - it was made simply by smooshing the card into Distress Oxides and water. I sponged green ink lightly around the image so that it would blend into the background. The sentiment is a stamp that was free, quite a while ago, in a paper crafting magazine.
I matted the image block onto black card and made a second background from a leaf stamp which is part of a set of stamps by Woodware called 'Lino Cut - Hare in the Fields'. I inked the stamp with three colours of Distress Oxide and stamped it around the edge of the card. This too was matted not black card.
Here is a close up:

Isn't she sweet! Her bunny ear headband and boho tent are adorable and she seems at one with nature watching the little bird.

Many thanks to All Dressed Up, this month's guest sponsor,

and to Scribbles Designs as the ongoing sponsor of the challenge

We would love to see your creations!
Just make sure that your entry is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way!

* Vera Lane Studio: Lucky Ducks

Hello!

Happy Monday!

It's my DT day at Vera Lane Studio and today we have a new digi set release called Lucky Ducks.

Here is a journal page that I made:

As usual, I coloured the images with Copic markers and fussy cut them. The background was made with Janet's stencil, #96 Dandelion Field, and stamping with Janet's two background stamp sets, Background Noise and Visual Ingredients. I added the grasses from Snail's Pace and the sun from Suns and made my ducky scene.

Here are close ups:

That's all for now.
I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

* AALL & Create: Up, Up & Away

Hello!

Today is my GDT day at AALL & Create.
I have created a whimsical scene using a stamp set designed by Tracy Evans called Up, Up & Away and two of her whimsical houses.

I created the background with one of the new geometric stencils and Distress Oxides.  I used watercolours for the images.

Work in Progress:
1. I directly inked the stencils with Distress Oxides, spritzed water and stamped onto card.

2. The green card was torn and adhered to the blue card. The balloon and the two houses were stamped using Versafine Nocturn ink.

3. I used the Hibiscus set to add some of the alphabet stamp around the card edges. Tone on tone stamping using the Scripted Semi-circles was added to the stencilled background, along with the small circle stamp from the Heart Grunge set.

4. The images that I needed were stamped onto watercolour paper. They were painted, then fussy cut. I added some stamping to the houses and used Polychromo pencils to add extra colour and some details.
The hot air balloon and its basket were stamped onto mop-up card and the colours enhanced with Polychromo pencils.

5. The images were adhered in place, some on foam tape. White splatters were added. Sentiments were stamped, cut and inked around the edges then added on foam tape for dimension.

Stamps Used:
#257 Lil' Magic (clouds)
#261Magical House
#263 Heart and Home
#296 All Good Things (Grass)
#458 Hibiscus (Alphabet stamp)
#467 Up, Up & Away
#469 Scripted Semicircles
#483 Happy Dog (Happy sentiment)
Stencil: #125 Lotza Semicirclz

* Crafts Galore Encore: Winter

 Hello

May brings another challenge at Crafts Galore Encore

The theme is always Anything Goes and the challenge lasts all month.

Our sponsor this month is Morgans ArtWorld and Morgan is offering three digi stamps to the winner.

I chose to work with Winter 10 and here is my card:

I coloured the image with Copic markers and fussy cut it out. I always run around the edges of the image with a black marker to hide any cutting imperfections. I added clear Wink of Stella to the girl's buttons and fur trimmings.
The background is design paper stamped over and heat embossed in white. I used stamp set #60, Lacy Graffiti, from AALL & Create.
I will add a sentiment when the time comes to give the card away.
Here is my girl in close up:

Many thanks to Morgan's ArtWorld for sponsoring the challenge.

Please pop over to Crafts Galore Encore to see the DTs wonderful designs.

We'd love to see your creations.
Remember the challenge is always 'Anything Goes' and so you can create any type of project - it doesn't have to be a card and you can enter up to 3 times.

Thanks for stopping by today!

* Gecko Galz: Secret Garden

Hello!

Can you believe that we are in May already? Time is flying by! We are entering my favourite time of the year and I'm so happy to have lighter evenings and warmer temperatures.

The new challenge has started at the Gecko Galz Challenge Blog and the theme this month is Secret Garden.

We would love for you to join our challenge. The only rule is that you use at least one Gecko Galz product. The challenge runs until the 29th May.

I made a couple of items for customer challenge inspiration.

The first is a couple of Fairy Door Cards.

Here they are with the door shut:

And here they are opened:

I used the Blooming Waters ATC set to create the backgrounds and the doors are from the Behind Door collage set. I scored the card to act as the door hinge and before adhering the door images, I scored, folded and inked the kraft card so that it would look like wooden planks when opened.
My fairies, their butterflies, frog and rabbit come from the StoryBook Garden Kit and the toadstools are from Nature's Beauty.

***

My second project is a tiny 3D canvas. I used the back of the canvas as a 'shadow box' to layer up the images to make a secret garden:

The lovely little girl is from the Easter Children Collage set and the roses are from the Dream Garden ATC set. I found some bullrushes on one of the Dream Garden ATCs and used one of the papers from the Dapper Nouveau ATC set as the background paper.

That's all for now!
I hope you'll join our Secret Garden challenge where the winner will get a $25 shopping spree at the Gecko Galz shop.

The only rule is that you must use at least one Gecko Galz product
(this can be one of the freebies or, of course, you can buy at the Etsy store!)
Also if you sign up for the Gecko Galz newsletter, you'll be able to claim a free collage sheet each month and get first claim on the monthly $1 deals!

Please pop over to the Gecko Galz blog to see the fabulous designs by the very talented DT.

We also have a friendly Facebook Group where there are 4 monthly challenges, each with a collage sheet prize.
Do come and join us!

I'll be back on the 20th with more Gecko Galz projects.
