* AALL & Create: We Are All Stars - Marilyn

Hello

Today for my AALL & Create GDT project, I have a journal page to share. It features Marilyn and has a host of stars in the background.

Here is how this journal page came together:

The card was painted using PaperArtsy Fresco Chalk Finish paint in Lipstick.
Using the Saturday Morning stencil, I sponged on Deco Art Fluorescent paint.
Next I heat embossed some of the Scripted Stars in white and stamped Reverse stars using Versafine Claire in Chianti.
I added some gold stamping (using paint) and gold splatters.
Admittedly, the background is a 'hot mess' as this stage :)

Next I stamped and coloured the two Marilyns and fussy cut them both.
I added # 18 Poet washi tape to ground the girls, along with some words from #6 Crafty Washi tape.

I made a frame from #6 Crafty washi tape. I don't have any of the new was his yet, so I need to go shopping for some.

The finished piece, ready to stick into my art journal:

Stamps: #468 Scripted Stars, #475 Marilyn,  #485 Reverse Stars
Stencil: #118 Saturday Morning
Washi Tape: #6 Crafty and #18 Poets

* Gecko Galz: Secret Gardens

Hello

Today is my DT day at Gecko Galz and I have a new project to share.

I made  a greeting card using a beautiful image from the Mistress Mary collage set. I teamed it with papers from the Tattered Dutchess ATC set - one of my absolute favourite paper packs .

The image does all the work. I matted it onto cream paper and added it with foam pads to the distressed darker paper. I made some wild flowers using Tim Holtz thinlet dies and watercolour paper. I used distress oxides to colour them and added them to the side of the image to create my secret garden.
I made a banner for below the image and used a Tim Holtz sticker quote. Here is a closer look:

Earlier this month, I shared two projects that I made for the customer challenge.
Here they are again and details can be viewed here.

* Path of Positivity: Sea View

  Hello!

Today is the midway point of the May Path of Positivity challenge.
The challenge lasts for the whole month of May.

This month the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of
Change Your Environment.

Prizes this month include:
  • TWO digital images from All Dressed Upour guest sponsor for this month, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • ONE image (value of $5 or less) from Scribbles Designs, for the post or project that the team deems most inspiring of the bunch based on all qualifying entrants.
  • One digital image from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for each person chosen as a DT Delight.
Our optional theme this month is
Change Your Environment.
This could be going for a day out or taking a holiday,. It could be going for a bike ride or a walk. It could be changing something at home - decorating, painting, gardening. Or it could be making changes to help save our planet.
There are so many ways you can interpret the optional theme this month. We are waiting to see your take on the theme.

Please remember ...
... in order to be eligible for the prizes your project must be positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way.

For my project, I used Sea View from All Dressed Up.
Going to visit the seaside is a wonderful way to change your environment. I am lucky to live only 20 miles away from the seaside, so an hour's drive will take me to the west coast of England where I can walk on the beaches and paddle in the sea. I love the fresh sea air and the sound of the seagulls.
Here is my card:

I used Copics to colour the image and used a die to cut it out. It is a long time since I used patterned paper, but this paper pad had perfect sea themed papers that matched my colour scheme, so I simply cut out 2 more squares using the same die set and layered them up. I decided to add some hand made, die cut flowers and I used Distress Oxide inks to colour them. I gave each flower a pearl centre.  Next, I found this 'hello' sentiment, probably made years ago, that I had made from glued together die cuts. I added a little black ink around the edges to give it a bit of definition and to help it stand out against the patterned papers. I added a coupe of leaves and some pearl stamen to the flower cluster.

Many thanks to All Dressed Up, this month's guest sponsor,

and to Scribbles Designs as the ongoing sponsor of the challenge

We would love to see your creations!
Just make sure that your entry is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way!

 Hello!

Welcome to my DT day at Vera Lane Studio

Today we have a new digi release - a set called Learn to Fly.

Here is a journal page I made:

I coloured my images with Copic markers and fussy cut them. They are added to a background made with a stamped and heat embossed background using AALL & Create stamp set #444 Crashing Waves. I blended Distress Oxide inks and stamped some of Janet's background stamps around the edges (#338 Background Noise and #404 Visual Ingredients, both from AALL & Create).

*AALL & Create: Girl Talk Mini Book

Hello

This week for my AALL & Create project I made a mini book - it is a triptych. I'm calling this one 'Girl Talk' as it features Janet Klein's lovely girls and Bipasha's beautiful sentiments from Background Voices.

I started with several gelli prints made from braying PaperArtsy Fresco Finish paints onto white card. I used darker colours than I normally use - Inky Pool, Captain Peacock and Slimed.

I stamped paint with the Totally Dotty stencil over the paint, then added more stamping which I heat embossed in white.

I used a white Brilliance ink pad to stamp some Reverse Stars into the background, then added gold paint around the edges and some splatters too.

Inspire Washi tape was torn and acts as grounding for my girls. The images are coloured with Copics and fussy cut right up to the black line.

White Posca pen was used to add some highlights on the images and also to add some white splatters.

A Tim Holtz bulldog clip was painted and acts as closure for the triptych.

Work in Progress:

1. I brayered paint onto a gelli plate and took several prints. I brayered white paint onto the Totally Dotty stencil, spritzed it with water and stamped it onto the painted card. Next I stamped the sentiments with Versamark and heat embossed them in white.

2. I added more stamping, using the small script stamp from Blooming Beauty, and heat embossed. The Reverse Starts were stamped in white and gold paint scraped around the edges of each page along with some gold splatters. #2 Washi tape, Inspire, was used to ground the images.

3. The characters were stamped and coloured with Copics, then fussy cut.

Stamps Used:
#324 Blooming Beauty
#457 Background Voices
#477 Caterday
#478 Choose Happy
#479 Confident
#480 Curly Girl
#481 Lil Live
#485 Reverse Stars
Stencil: #87 Totally Dotty
Washi #2 Inspire

* Vera Lane Studio: My Selfie

 Hello!

Today, for my Vera Lane Studio DT project, I have a card featuring a recent new digi set release called My Selfie.

I used Copic markers to colour my image.
To make the background I first smooshed white card in Distress Oxides, then I heat embossed in white with Scripted Stars and stamped with Reverse Stars, both from AALL & Create. I love creating layers of ink.
I used torn washi tape to ground my girl and added a hand doodled border.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

* Mail Art Envelope

Hello!

The challenge at Lost Coast Portal to Creativity at the moment is Mail Art and I wanted to take part.

Here is my envelope - I had to blank out the address as it is already on its way to one of my friends.

I used a pre-made 5 x 7 inch envelope. I blended Distress Oxides over the front, using a mask where the address will be written. Next, I applied a darker colour through #78 Cloister Grille stencil. from AALL & Create.

I used the border stamp #34 with Versafine Clair Warm Breeze to apply the circles. Then I stamped the cats using #465 Tall Cats. I made some of them appear as if they were peeking from behind the address space. I bleached out some of the Oxide colour inside the cats to make them stand out a little more.

Finally, I inked around the envelope edges with black ink and doodled a border around the address space.

All stamps and stencils used are from AALL & Create.

Thanks for visiting.
