Path of Positivity: Autumn Blessings

 Hello

Welcome to my midway post for the October Path of Positivity Challenge.

Our challenge is always Anything Goes with an optional theme.

This month's option is to design a project that focuses on celebrating YOUR FAVOURITE SEASON.

Honours and Prizes include:

  • $6 worth of images from Scribbles Designs, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • A badge for the following honours: Top PickVoter's ChoiceMost InspirationalRandom WinnerDT Delight.
I decided to do full blown autumn this time. The colours of the falling leaves are glorious!

Isn't this a gorgeous image!

It is the FREE monthly image at the Gecko Galz blog. The idea is that you use the image to make a project to enter into the challenge and the winner gets $25 spend at the Gecko Galz Etsy shop. Why not join the fun?

I inked and distressed the edges of the image and matted it onto gold card. The background paper is from Gecko Galz as well, from the Autumn Colours ATC Set. The image mat is on foam for dimension. I die cut a gold scalloped lacy border and for decoration, I made some flowers  and die cut some leaves from inked card.

We would love to see your creations!
Just make sure that your entry is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way!

That's all for today!
Many thanks to Scribbles Designs for sponsoring the challenge.

I'll be back with a another Path of Positivity project in a couple of weeks time.

Thanks for stopping by today!

* Vera Lane Studio: My Vespa

Hello

Today at Vera Lane Studio we have a new digi set release called My Vespa. I made a mini journal page and included the house from last weeks release 'You are Your Home'.

I used Copics and pencils to colour the images. The background is brayered PaperArtsy Fresco paints with a light stencil print overlay in watered down white acrylic paint. I added Inktense watercolour pencils to some of the diamond shapes to highlight them. I also added tone on tone and black stamping using AALL & Create diamond stamps along with lots of paint splatters.

* Vera Lane Studio: Time for Halloween

Hello

Today I'm getting in the mood for Halloween with a set of ATCs featuring the squishy kids from Time to Halloween by Vera Lane Studio.

They do make me smile!
I coloured the images with Copic markers and fussy cut them. The bats are from the Vampire Dee set.
The background is white card, dipped and dabbed into puddles of Distress Inks - I ditched the oxides this time to get a more vibrant background. I heat embossed the "Batmosphere' stamp by Bipasha from AALL & Create and added some crosses from Janet's 'X or O' stamp in black ink as well as inking all around the ATCs in black. Some white splatters were added to the background and the little characters were adhered directly onto the card with some washi for grounding.

Here are close ups of each little goofball :-

* Path of Positivity: Welcoming Autumn

 Hello

Welcome to the October Path of Positivity Challenge.

Our challenge is always Anything Goes with an optional theme.

Honours and Prizes include:
  • $6 worth of images from Scribbles Designs, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • A badge for the following honours: Top PickVoter's ChoiceMost InspirationalRandom WinnerDT Delight.

I chose to make my DT project about the arrival of autumn. Whilst I don't particularly like cold, wet and windy weather, I do love the colours in this season of change, especially when accompanied by bright, sunshine and clear blue skies :).

Here is the card I made:

I made a wreath using foliage stamps from Inkylicious and Lavinia and inked the background with Elements inks, adding some water droplets to the edges to give a faux bleach effect.
The lovely bird is a stamp called Merry Magpie from Rubber Dance. She was stamped onto white card and fussy cut, then adhered to the wreath.
I matted the background onto black card and popped all onto a card base. Here is a close up:

We would love to see your creations!

Vera Lane Studio: Scorpio

 Hello

I'm back again today to share another zodiac tag, this time featuring the lovely Scorpio Girl, a new release from Vera Lane Studio

The good news is that there are now zodiac boys too!

As usual, I made a tag to go with all the other zodiac tags which I will make into a little book:

My little Scorpio girl had a rough time to get where she is 😳.

I coloured her with Copics and fussy cut her and set her to one side. whilst I made the tag. I blended oxide inks, then heat embossed in white (only I stamped the script upside down and had to start all over again). I added some stamping around the edges and inked in black. Next came the white splatters, and this is where little Scorpio came in line of fire - she took a whitewashing and she needed to be rescued. I dabbed with a wet wipe and re coloured her, but really she needed to be redone from scratch. Time was in short supply, so I adhered her to the tag with some washi for grounding. I dyed the ribbon with oxides and called it done! (She has, if you look closely, a dirty looking chin and arms.)

All stamps are from AALL & Create.

Crafts Galore Encore: Christmas Pooch

Hello

Today sees that start of a new challenge at Crafts Galore Encore

The theme is always 'Anything Goes' and you can enter up to 3 different projects The challenge runs all month until mid day (GMT) 30th October.

All Dressed Up is very kindly sponsoring this month's challenge.

Here is my project using the adorable Christmas Pooch digi:

I coloured the pooch using Copic markers and fussy cut him. I used some remnants of an old Graphic 45 paper pad to make the background, matting each layer on white to brighten the overall look. I die cut a circle to act as the background of the doggie. For embellishment I added some die cut spruce leaves along with 3 jumbo red berries and splattered them with white paint. I added the word 'joy' on a tiny tag and inked around its edges.

Many thanks to Wendy at All Dressed Up for supporting the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge.

Please pop over to Crafts Galore Encore to see the DT's wonderful designs.

We'd love to see your creations.
Remember the challenge is always 'Anything Goes' and so you can create any type of project - it doesn't have to be a card and you can enter up to 3 times.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Gecko Galz: Bohemian Rhapsody

 Hello

October is here and we have a new customer challenge at the Gecko Galz blog.
The theme this month is Bohemian Rhapsody.

We have the annual Blog Hop at the end of October with lots of free collage sheets and super prizes to be won. I do hope you'll join us.

As always, we have the monthly Image Challenge, the monthly Christmas Image Challenge, the monthly Stamp Challenge, a Steampunk challenge and a Gothic Challenge on the blog, as well as 4 Facebook challenges.
We hope you can find some time to join in the fun.

The winner of the Customer challenge will get a $25 Gecko Galz Etsy Store voucher and the runner up a $12 voucher. There are plenty of free Gecko Galz images if you don't already own any. Each blog post has a free image to collect and, if you sign up for the monthly newsletter, there is the chance to claim a free collage set each month.  Also if you make any purchase of $2 or more you receive a free image.

I made several projects, some of which I'll post later in the month on my DT day, 20th October.

Here is a card I made:

I used a lovely image from the Gypsy Jewels collage set which I enlarged. I printed it out twice and decoupaged the focal lady. I added Stickles glitter to her dress and matted it onto gold and then black card. The paper is from the Taj Mahal Paper Pack and that too was matted onto gold and black card.
I die cut two gold swirls and matted each onto a black base so that they would stand out a little more. I also made some die cut paper flowers from inky card.

That's all for now!
I hope you'll join our Bohemian Rhapsody challenge where the winner will get a $25 shopping spree at the Gecko Galz shop.

The only rule is that you must use at least one Gecko Galz product (this can be one of the freebies or, of course, you can buy at the Etsy store!) Also if you sign up for the Gecko Galz newsletter, you'll be able to claim a free collage sheet each month and get first claim on the monthly $1 deals!

Please pop over to the Gecko Galz blog to see the fabulous designs by the very talented DT.

We also have a friendly Facebook Group where there are 4 monthly challenges, each with a collage sheet prize.
Do come and join us!

I'll be back on the 20th October with more Gecko Galz projects.
