CAS: Cute Dragon

This little chap helped me make Top 3 at Crafting with Dragonflies

The theme this week at Less is More #273 is Saints, Dragons or Heroes in honour of Saint George's Day on the 23rd April. According to the legend Saint George, the patron saint of England, slew a dragon to save a maiden in distress. The cards at Less is More  must always be CAS cards.

Here is my card:

The image is a digi stamp from Pretty Grafik Design (who have an 80% sale at the moment). It was printed onto white card and coloured with Spectrum Noir markers.

A dragon shaped mask was made so that inks could be blended through a Dylusions Lucious Leaves stencil for the background.  I used Memento Dandelion, Nautical Blue and Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers inks.

The sentiment from Hobbycraft was stamped in Ranger Jet Black ink and heat embossed with clear WOW powder.

Pocket Letter: Pink Shabby Chic

I haven't been making as many pocket letters lately, but there is a lady on the Pocket Letter Pals network who organises birthday pocket letters for everyone. I thought she deserved a little surprise, so I made this for her.

I hope she likes it!

I used pink glitter paper from the Spring in Bloom paper pad and taupe striped paper over which I heat embossed some gold script with a Kaisercraft stamp. The edges of each card were inked in Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo.

I used some Tilda dimensional stickers in pockets 2, 3, 4 and 9.

Pockets 1 and 8 have a die cut heart.

Pocket 5 has a beautiful quote stamped in Vintage Photo. The Scatter Seeds stamp is from Inkilicious. The edges of the card are heat embossed in gold tinsel.

Pocket 6 has delicate lace and pearls to enhance this Julianna stamp, again from Inkilicious

Pocket 7 has a die cut Bird on a Branch by Marianne Design and flowers made from ivory satin trimming and hand punched pink glitter card with pearls at the centres.

Tim Holtz Chitchat stickers were used in some pockets to add words. Tickets and gold stickers finished off the cards.

Here is the back of the pocket letter where the goodies are:

Pocket 1: a little bit of info about me
Pocket 2: red organza, white bow trim and ivory flower trim
Pocket 3: cork, linen and burlap bird and mason jar embellishments
Pocket 4: crystal gems and dimensional butterfly embellishments
Pocket 5: Shocking pink organza, pearl heart flat backs and flower embellishments
Pocket 6: gel sticky dots, grey pearls and cream pearls
Pocket 7: Rose tea
Pocket 8: pink organza and bee embellishments
Pocket 9: coral crystal gems and tiny square metal-look gems in gold

As Cathy is so special, I added extra goodies and made her a note card, which you can see here, into which I tucked my letter. She's from the USA, so I though she'd like a packet of ten pound note tissues!

ATC: Birthday Girl

The theme this week #206 at Wicked Wednesday is Birthday Girl.

I made this very pink ATC.

The background is a Heartfelt Creations stamp  called Vintage Morning Background. This is one of those stamps that has a matching die set, however I like the look of the stamped image with the speckled background. It was stamped in Memento Rose Bud.  The edges of the card were inked, and a little ink was blended onto the card.

The image is from a set called Bentley Bear Thank You Collection which was a free gift with  Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine - I don't know which issue, as I bought this at a bargain price from Ebay! Bentley was stamped on to a snippet of white card, coloured with Spectrum Noir markers, then cut out leaving a thin white border. I decided to colour the border in very pale grey so that it blended with the background a little better. Bentley was attached to the ATC on foam pads.

The rose banner at the bottom was dry embossed using another free gift - a folder from May's Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine Issue # 156. The embossed card was then inked with Rose bud, cut out and attached on foam pads.

The sentiment is from a Little Claire Designs set called Lovely Bunny.  It was stamped on to a tiny piece of spotty sparkly vellum and cut into a tag shape. It was attached with an embossed rosebud on a foam pad.

The roses and the bunch of flowers were dotted with a quickie glue pen and holographic glitter was applied.

Cherry and Blossom Cuddles

This card helped me to win a Feather in my Cap at Digi Choosday :)

Here is a card I made which has embossed layers to give it a 3D effect.

The image is a digi stamp from Polkadoodles and is called Cherry and Blossom Cuddles.  It was coloured with Spectrum Noir markers, then die cut with a scalloped square. The edges were inked with Memento Dandelion and the ink was blended towards the image to take away the starkness of the white background.

A piece of yellow core'dinations card was cut and it's corners rounded. This yellow card was mounted onto white card which had been dry embossed with a folder from Xcut called Damask Background. The corners were again rounded. Yellow organza ribbon was attached around the mat and the die-cut image was secured on top using foam pads.

The background paper is yellow and white striped glitter paper from DecoTime. This was dry embossed with the Damask embossing folder. A strip of striped paper was also embossed with a free folder called Decadent Blooms (from Issue 131 Papercraft Essentials  Magazine).  An Xcut border punch was used to create the paper lace which was attached to the thin strip of striped paper for the banner.

The  image was glued to the background paper; the banner was attached with foam pads. A glitter sentiment was added to the banner and a ribbon flower with a crystal gem was placed in the top right corner of the image.

I really love the image - these little bunnies are so cute and there is a whole bunch of them over at Polkadoodles. They remind me of friends giving each other a hug and so I thought they would make a lovely Thank You card.

Roses, Lace and Butterflies

I was the winner at Gecko Galz April challenge with this card!

Today I'm showing a collage card.

The April challenge at Gecko Galz is to make something using Roses, Lace and Butterflies and the only rule is that you must use at least one product from Gecko Galz.

Here is my make. It's a card which can be used for any occasion.

I used distressed music manuscript paper for the background.
The roses were printed onto card and cut out. The edges were inked with Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo distress ink so that they would blend in with the manuscript paper. They were attached to the background on foam pads.
The gorgeous ivory lace was secured with glue dots at the back of the music paper.
The Geko Galz butterfly was fussy cut and adhered to card in order to make it stronger. It was clear heat embossed to give it some shine. Jewellery findings were shaped for the antennae and it was attached to the card.

The sentiment was inked and glued into place.
