* Vera Lane Sudio: Princess Leia and Yoda

Hello!
Happy Monday!

Today at Vera Lane Studio we have a new digi set release. It is Princess Leia and Yoda and features two characters, Princess Leia and Yoda, plus two sentiments.

I coloured the digis with Copic markers and fussy cut them.
I decided to make a galaxy background for my characters. I used Distress Oxides and the smoosh, dab, dry, repeat technique. I used Weathered Wood, Black Soot, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire, Dusty Concord and Seedless Preserves. When I was happy with the background I placed a handmade stencil over the card with a die cut circle shape to represent a moon. I added lots of water droplets to bleach out some of the colour, then placed a die cut circle over the moon and applied Black Soot DO around the edges to give a spotlight effect. I mixed some Brusho Sprinkle It in Irridescent Flash with water and splattered that on the sky. I also splattered a white Posca paint pen over the night sky. I outlined the moon with silver glitter pen and added a few dots in the sky. I used a torn piece of paper to add planet ground to the bottom portion of the card.
Princess Leia and Yoda were popped on foam pads and placed on the ground. The sentiment was cut into strips, inked with black archival ink and glued to the background.

  5. Oh dear, Carole, you have enabled me. I made a thanksgiving card a few years back with a photo of Leia's face cut and pasted on a pilgrim woman's body and inside it said May the Forks Be With You. Well, this Leia would be a lot cuter. Plus I have a Neat and Tangled stamp set that has a whole lot of star wars like phrases and these two cuties will go with it. So I am off to buy. Should I thank you or curse you? HAHAHA Hugs and LOVE, xoxo
