* Vera Lane Studio: Let's Eat Pizza

 

Hello

It is Monday and so it's my Vera Lane Studio DT day. 

I used the newly released digi sets called Let's Eat Pizza and Let's Go to Italy for my ATC project:

I coloured the digis with Copic markers and finished off with Polychromos. The background is heat embossed with an AALL & Create stamp, then coloured with Brushos and water. Some black stamping was added around the edges and lots of white paint splatters. I grounded the characters on Janet's washi tape, then popped the characters on foam tape for some dimension. I added Glossy Accents to the olives and gold acrylic paint around the ATC edges.

* Vera Lane Studio: Beauty and the Beak

 Hello

A warm welcome to Mervi Leikas my new follower.

It is Monday, so it's my Vera Lane Studio DT day. 

I used the digi set called Beauty and the Beak for my project. 

I adore this older style 'Vera Lane Studio' girl - I think she's cute and cuddly and this sentiment is one of my all time favourites. It's true, I do love bird chirping weather, but I enjoy listening to the bird song so much more.

I used Copic markers for colouring the images. I found this acrylic gelli print in my stash (an AALL & Create stencil was used in the process of making it) and I added some stamping and heat embossing, using AALL & Create stamps, along with lots of white splatters. I borrowed a cloud from the My Vespa digi set and I cut the legs off two of the reverse printed birds so that they appear to be flying. I added a doodle border.

I only realised once I had finished colouring that I had printed my digis in draft form, so the lines are not as crisp as they should be.

* Path of Positivity: Pattern Play

 

Hello

Welcome to the June Path of Positivity Challenge.

Our challenge is always Anything Goes with an optional theme.

This month's option is to design a project that is inspired by a pattern.

Honours and Prizes include:

• $6 worth of images from Scribbles Designs, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
• A badge for the following honours: Top Pick, Voter's Choice, Most Inspirational, Random Winner, DT Delight.

A pattern is a repeated decorative design.

Immediately Tracy Scott, the artist and stamp designer, sprang to mind. Tracy loves pattern play and designs stamps with this in mind. I chose two hexagon stamps from her Bee and Hexagon stamp set (TS059) and this is my design:

I repeatedly stamped the two hexagons, alternating the design each time. I coloured firstly with Inktense watercolour pencils, then when it was dry, I added depth with Polychromos. Some white highlights were added, I matted onto black card and heat embossed the sentiment. I like the simplicity of this and I love how playing with the hexagon shapes gave triangles and star shapes too :)

* Vera Lane Studio: Miss Dee's Dogs

Hello

 Today is my Vera Lane Studio DT day. 

We have a new digi set released today called Dee's Dogs.

Miss Dee is a bit of an acquired taste, but her wit and sharp tongue make her very popular. 😄

Here is my project:

Miss Dee and her doggies are coloured with Copic markers. 

The background is stamped with a stencil loaded with green oxide inks. I added some heat embossing and stamping as well as paint splatters. I grounded the images with Janet's washi tape from AALL & Create.

* Gecko Galz: Dapper Gentlemen

 

Hello

June is here and we have a new customer challenge over at the Gecko Galz blog.  

The theme this month is Dapper Gentlemen.

As always, we also have the monthly card challeng.e, the monthly Christmas Image Challenge, the monthly Stamp Challenge, an ATC challenge, a Steampunk challenge and a Gothic Challenge on the blog, as well as 4 Facebook challenges. These can be accessed by the tabs at the top of the main blog page.

And, new for this year, we have a new challenge, the quarterly challenge.. This quarter the challenge is to make an altered mason jar.

I made an altered notebook:

 I using a background from Steam Power and a fussy cut gent from Mad About Men. I distressed the edges of the Steam Power clock background and inked with Vintage Photo. The embossed brickwork cover was made with a 3D Sizzix embossing folder and inked with Distress Oxides. I added some kraft die cut leaves, coloured lightly with green oxide ink and highlighted with white Distress Crayon. To finish I added some alpha stickers to spell out 'notes'.

* Crafts Galore Encore: Bob in a Boat

 

Hello

Today sees that start of a new challenge at Crafts Galore Encore. 

The theme is always 'Anything Goes' and you can enter up to 3 different projects.  The challenge runs all month until mid day (GMT) 29th June.

This month's challenge is kindly sponsored by Nikky from Polkadoodles.

 I chose to use the adorable Bob in a Boat for my project.

I made a card using the papers in the digi bundle for my background. I printed out the image and used a stitched square die to cut it out. I coloured the image and the sea with Copics and blended Distress Oxide inks for the sky. The sentiment is from the set and I used a tag die to cut it and added two gemstones
