Hello!
Today is my Vera Lane Studio DT day and this time I have used some new digital papers called Leaves Pattern along with digital stamps and elements from digital collage sets.
I altered a little box which has a magnetic opening and a made a card:
The box is made from wood. It could be used as a book end or for popping bits and bobs into.
Firstly it was coated with gesso. Once that was dry it was given a coat of black acrylic paint. I altered the size and colour of the leaf paper in PowerPoint to make the background more grey-blue. Five 7 x 7 cm pieces were printed and the edges inked with black archival ink. These were adhered to the box sides and top.
Peekaboo was coloured with Copic markers and I decided to give her a Mansion Gate to peek around. They were fussy cut and adhered to the front side of the box. In retrospect it would have been better to place the images onto black card and fussy cut around again to give a black outline, so that they would stand out better against the background. I've only decorated this one side for the moment!
The card was so quick and easy to make. The card base is 10 x 10 cm. I cut a piece of Leaves Pattern paper to 8 x 8 cm and inked around the edges in black. I matted it onto black paper. The sun from the Sunshine Collage set and the house is from the Pretty Little Houses Collage set. Both were fussy cut, matted onto black card and fussy cut again to leave a thin black border. It makes the colours pop even more! The 'Thank You' is from the Sentiments set - it was cut into strips, inked in black and matted onto black card.
