Hello!
Have you heard?
It's the Cat Lovers Hop hosted by Janis at Her Peaceful Garden.
This year is the fifth hop and it's a crazy week filled with crafting, commenting and celebrating cats of all sizes. There are fabulous sponsors and prizes to be won, but best of all, friendships to be forged with like minded cat lovers from around the world. Why don't you come and join us?
Here is my sixth card:
For this card I chose a digital collage sheet by one of my all time favourite digital artists Vera Lane Studio. Janet creates quirky and whimsical digital images in black and white for you to colour as you wish, but she now makes pre-coloured digital pdf sheets for quick and easy cards and journals.
I have used the Fat Cats Collage Sheet for my card.
I printed the sheet and fussy cut the cats. Once cut I always run a black marker around the edges of the image to hide any cutting imperfections. I added some colour to my cats' eyes and a few areas of shading, plus my usual dots and highlights.
The background is a gelli print made with PaperArtsy chalk acrylics and a Carabelle texture plate. The edges are inked with Broken China DO and black archival ink.
I arranged the cats into a group photo position and adhered to the background, the front two rows are popped on foam pads for dimension.

So much fussy cutting! Aren't they a "sweet?" gang of kitties. Wonderful coloring.
ReplyDeleteWOW, great fussy cutting, Carole! Loving each and every one of those fat cats. What a delightful CAS design. It really shows off the cats. :-D
ReplyDeleteBrilliant card. love the colours. Thanks for the tip about the black marker - I always seem to spend ages trying to shave off sneaky bits of white that show after I've fussy cut
ReplyDeleteAwesome colors for these cute kitties!
ReplyDeleteSome more fabulous cats. So bright and cheerful just makes you smile to see them. Hugs ValeryAnne.
ReplyDeleteWhen I spied this project on the Cat Lovers Hop I had to scurry on over to take a closer look because this is ADORABLE! I love the way you colored up these guys, and that black marker tip is one that I only recently discovered.

Well I'm a big fan of pre-coloured images - these look hand-coloured! Awesome job with your fussy-cutting too! Really love this group of fun and colourful kitties! Pause... I was just interrupted by Kiwi who needed a cuddle! He gets insulted if I don't give him my full attention. Gorgeous work here, Carole! I've had a few favourites on the hop and your cards have been among them!
