* Gecko Galz: Gypsy Fortunes 2

Hello!

Before I begin my DT post, please let me remind you that we have the Gecko Galz Blog Hop taking place from the 24th to 27th October.
There are lots of free collage sheets, fabulous prizes to be won and tons of inspiration.
I hope you can join us.

Today is my DT day at Gecko Galz and I have 2 new projects to share.
The theme for this month's challenge is Gypsy Fortunes and I have stuck to this theme for my makes. The challenge is open until the end of the month, so there is still some time to play along.

Here is my first card:

I decided to opt for a shabby vintage style, using lots of distressed layers and natural fibres and textures.  The floral paper is from the Flower Power paper pack and the green paper is from the La Boheme Kit. I combined these papers with kraft card and a corrugated card tag threaded with twine. The beautiful image is from Gypsy Beauties  and it is popped up on foam tape for dimension. I added some ribbon to the tag and adhered the sentiment from the Journal Toppers kit on top. I added a frayed, calico flower and arranged some leaves and florists' moss around it. The butterfly is die cut and has a wooden bead as its body and flower stamen for antenna.

My second card is more colourful and uses one of my favourite
colour combinations:

Again this is a layered card. Each layer is inked around the edges with Vintage Photo ink. The blue paper is from Pixie Dust and the orange paper is from the Never More paper pack. The beautiful image is from the Gypsy Spirit collage set, whilst the sentiment is from the In Other Words Stamp set.
I added some shabby ribbon along the bottom section of the card and placed the sentiment onto mats of patterned papers, then popped it on foam pads on top of the ribbon. I finished by adding some die cut flowers which are paper pieced and a ribbon tied into a bow with a blue flower head.
