* Gecko Galz: Creatures of The Night ATCs

This month at the Gecko Galz Facebook Group we have had an ATC swap with the theme Creatures of the Night. We are given the ATC background papers and a sheet of images with which to make our collage ATCs. Here are mine inside a little folder style wallet to keep them safe whilst in transit:

I had so much fun making these ATCs. Here are close ups showing that each one has dyed cheesecloth in the background, along with some tiny gemstones and lace trim.

The sentiments are from the Snarky Cats Halloween stamp set by Stampers Anonymous.

Haha .... Dracula is trick or treating ...

Can you see the google eyes popped into the skull charm? I love that this monster is afraid of the other monster, or is it the dark that he's afraid of? :)

Frankenstein's Monster looks so miserable and glum, I gave him the snarky 'Happy Halloween' sentiment and a giant spider on his shoulder.

Here is the ATC folder I made. The dotty paper is printed on one side only, so I added some Distress Oxides to the reverse and made tuck spots for the ATCs. Ribbon is the closure. I found some small images in my little Gecko Galz Halloween scrap tin and used these to decorate the tuck spots.

Here is the folder closed and tied with ribbon.

And the inside folder is decorated too.

I couldn't' send the ATCs without a card, so here is one that I had made years ago using Gecko Galz images. 

And of course, I added some little extras - bits and bobs of lace trim, ribbon, gem strips as well as some die cuts, spiders and google eyes.

Today I used my favourite cat stamp,  Toby Cat from Inkylicious for this CAS card and I coupled him with a HobbyArt stamp FMDA101. 

I love Toby cat's quizzical look and he reminds me very much of a tuxedo kitty we had called Indiana. Indiana Jones (yes ... that's our surname) really did live up to his name - he was quite the adventurer. My hubby has written several short stories depicting some of Indie's antics and adventures, and, of course, he anthropomorphised this legendary, funny kitty. who will live in our hearts forever.💗💗💗

I let the images do the work here and matted and layered on black and turquoise card for a pop of colour. I added some torn washi tape (AALL & Create #24 Power Words) to ground them.

Today I have  a scaredy cat :)

I adore The Snarky Cats, but, as yet, I only own the Halloween set and I used that to make today's card.

I sprayed Oxides onto the background, then added some ink blending and went around the edges with Black Soot. I added some stamping in black and plenty of splatters. The cat and broom were stamped directly onto the background and again onto white card. I fussy cut and coloured the images then adhered them over the stamped versions - this way all the furry hairs and small details were kept. I chose one of the sentiments - this one is perfect for my scaredy cat, stamped it onto white card and cut it into strips..

Today I have a decoupaged card using digital collage sheets from Maremi Small Art called '10 The Gang'. The cats' faces, bodies and accessories all come as separate images ready for you to create your own custom cats.

She has dogs and people paper dolls too and all very reasonably priced.

Aren't they the sweetest thing you've ever seen?

So simple to create - simply download the digital papers, fussy cut (or use a machine if you're lucky enough to have one!), ink the edges, then get mixing and matching. They are fabulous and fun - paper dolls, but cats! 

I decided to make a card with mine, but they are perfect for journal pages too. 

I stamped the frame using a very old Gorjuss stamp set, then I lightly spritzed some Juniper Mica Spray onto acetate and used the acetate to place the colour where I wanted it. I used a water brush and the same spray ink to colour the frame. I arranged my little family and popped them on foam for some dimension. The sentiment is stamped with a lovely little sentiment stamp that I got free with a purchase from Lawn Fawn.

Look at those faces.... I am in love!

Cat Lovers Hop Day 2

This is an annual event hosted by the lovely Janis over on her blog at Her Peaceful Garden.

Today I have a set of ATCs with vintage images. The collage set was free with a purchase last week at Gecko Galz.

I fussy cut around the image and placed it onto vintage background paper. I stamped and heat embossed a floral onto vellum using #324, Blooming Beauty, from AALL & Create. I fussy cut around the flowers and glued them to the ATC. I added a tiny piece of cheesecloth, a piece of gold mesh trim and made some paper flowers with dies from inked card, adding a gem to the centre of each one. I printed out the words to 'Soft Kitty', Sheldon's comfort song on the Big Bang Theory :)

Welcome to Day 1 of the Cat Lovers Hop 2021.

A big hello to all my furry, feline-loving friends!

This is an annual event hosted by the lovely Janis over on her blog at Her Peaceful Garden.

If you like cats pop over and have a look at the fun games and awesome prizes that Janis has organised for the next 6 days. 

 I used newly released AALL & Create stamps to make my Halloween card. I stamped the images, coloured and fussy cut them, then added them to the rainbow sky background.

The background is blended Distress Oxides, splattered with water to bleach out some colour. The moon was made using a set from Inkylicious which includes a moon stencil, mask and stamp. It was out long before Tim brought his out :) I then stamped the background with various AALL & Create background stamps to add texture and a border. I also used the Batosphere stamp to create the web and bats in the top corner.

The cat and hat were stamped onto the background so that the blots and squiggles would be there when I added the fussy cut images. I am distraught that I misplaced the hat in my eagerness to complete the project - oh well, let's say she has a levitating witches hat :)

I added some silver glitter pen to the web and around the edge of the moon.
