Path of Positivity: Butterflies

Hello

Today is the smidway reminder for the October challenge at the Path of Positivity.

Our challenge is always Anything Goes with an optional theme. We have decided that our overall theme for 2024 will be THE POWER OF WORDS.

October's option is to design a project that is inspired by quotes about

Growth and Change

***
Here is my project:

This is such a beautiful sentiment and one of my favourites as it reminds that change is good - generally, I'm not too fond of change as it causes me anxiety.
I have had a batch of these butterflies and caterpillars in a little wallet for a while and sadly can't remember where they are from. They were fussy cut, but looked a little dark, so I added some white Posca pen dots to the edges of their wings. I also added Glossy Accents to the body of the butterflies and to the caterpillar. I made the background using a stamp and Distress Oxide inks. The inks were spritzed with water, then stamped onto white card. The edges of the mandala stamped background were inked in Pistachio and Evergreen Bough.
I added the die cut sentiment in the centre of the mandala on foam tape and attached the butterflies, also on foam tape, leaving their wings free to flutter. All was matted onto teal card and popped on a 6 x 6 inch white card base

Here are this month's suggested quotes, but you can choose your own:

“You’re off to great places, today is your day. Your mountain is waiting, so get on your way.” — Dr. Seuss

“One's destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things." — Henry Miller

“If we don’t change, we don’t grow. If we don’t grow, we aren’t really living.” — Gail Sheehy

“If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.” — Henry Ford

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” — Mahatma Gandhi

That's all for now.
We would love to see your creations!
Just make sure that your entry is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way!

Midweek Muse: Ghosts

Hello

I have a digital page today for Midweek Muse where the theme is

Ghosts.

Isn't this crescent moon magnificent. It is a free png from Clean png, as is the raggedy ghost. I placed them on a blue, splattered background paper and added grungy, spider masks and borders and a bit of extra foliage to the base of the silhouette mound.

***

This abandoned building also appealed to me, it's a free image from House of Kooky on Facebook,. I added the same raggedy ghosts from Clean png and border masks.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Midweek Muse: Wings on Things

Hello

I have a digital page today for Midweek Muse where the theme is

Wings on Things.

I was sort of predictable here, but I've had this set of quirky animals for a few weeks and haven't yet done anything with them, so this was a perfect opportunity.

The pig is from a set called Animal Farm from Art House Whimsy. I gave this handsome creature wings from a set called Angel Wings from Chez Simone and placed him behind a stone wall, made from 3 layers of images found on Clear png for free. All is placed on cloudy sky paper for the background. A flock of flying birds, a sentiment and a grungy border and frame finish my piece.

Thanks for stopping by.

Fright Night

 Hello

Today I'm sharing a digital page I made for a new blog challenge at

My Soul's Dark Imagination.

The theme is Wicked or Fanciful Halloween.

Here is mine:

I tend towards the quirky side, rather than the dark side, but always enjoy playing with digital scrapbooking.

Here I used whimsical spooky mansions from Art House Whimsy and layered them on top of Halloween scrapbook paper. The spooky girls are free this month on the Gecko Galz Blog - each DT post has a different free image.

I used masks and borders from DigitalScrapbook.

Thanks for stopping by today!

It's my DT day today, at Gecko Galz and here are my makes..

First is a set of ATCs:

I used the Nosferatu ATCs as backgrounds and images from the Day of the Dead card toppers.

I attached the fussy cut image through a cut in the window background. The stained glass has Glossy Accents added, so that it looks like a jewel. The image is on foam tape for dimension. A lacy die cut border was adhered at the base of each card and a row of black gems applied to the top of each card.

I fussy cut a sentiment from Words in the Dark into three parts and tucked it into the lacy die border.

And here is one of the ATCs just placed on a die cut frame to show that each one would make a lovely greeting card.

Next I have an altered tin:

I used the Gothic Beauties Tin Toppers.
This is the front of the tin, nothing fancy, just the image:

And the interior:

And this is what I'll be storing inside it. My collection of Halloween charm:

Really, I'm not that into dark and dramatic, and I can't resist googly eyes - I thought they looked charming on the skellies:

Double D Challenge To Spook or Not 13/10
Unicorn Challenge Autiumn/Halloween 29/10

I made a slider book. I have a blog post with details and photos

And finally a couple of digital art collages:

Here I have one of the Dark Library images along with a Victorian Gothic Lady. The  sentiment is from the Words in the Dark collage sheet.

***

And this one is an older collage sheet image with skulls and roses from the Gothic Beauties tin toppers.

Path of Positivity: Get on Your Way!

Hello

Today is the start of a new challenge at the Path of Positivity.

Our challenge is always Anything Goes with an optional theme. We have decided that our overall theme for 2024 will be THE POWER OF WORDS.

October's option is to design a project that is inspired by quotes about

Growth and Change

***

Here is my project:

I used a printed background image from Conjurer of Dreams - it's from the Gaugiin Stained Glass Window set. I chose this one because of the changing colours on the trees - it's just like autumn. My Beautiful Redhead Young Girl is from Wendylynn's Paper Whims and she is gorgeous.

I added black stamping randomly around the edge of the background and inked all around in black. I fussy cut the girl from her background and inked around the edges. I used one of our suggested quotes by Dr Seuss - I love all of his stories - and typed it out in white on a black background. I cut it into a strip and matted it onto teal card. Both the sentiment and the girl are on foam tape which gives lovely dimension to the notecard.
