I'm sorry, but I cannot comment on blogs that only allow Google account users to leave comments without moderation. I have no idea why and any suggestions are most welcome!

Hello!
At the Gecko Galz blog the 2018 Tricks and Treats Blog Hop is running from October 26th until 31st. Hop on over - there are free collage sheets, prizes, craft ideas and so much more!
This is one of my DT cards using the free collage sheet I gave away on my main post which you can find here.
Mmm... what to do with the two reclining beauties? I felt like they could be in the same room as they are both sat on green velvet chairs.
They reminded me so much of the cards you see with posh ladies making unexpected snide comments, so I thought I'd try to make something similar to bring a smile to the recipient's face.
Part of our brief for the Blog Hop was that we should make a Christmas card. I decided to make one of the reclining ladies into my Christmas card, simply by giving her a die-cut Christmas tree (with glossy sticker baubles and a star on top) and a Christmas foliage swag from the Christmas Dreams Kit. The papers are from the Victorian Christmas paper pack. I fussy cut around the sofa and cushions and made it look like she has wine-red flock wallpaper.
The other reclining lady has the same Victorian Christmas papers and a simple gold metallic-look trim edging to separate the two papers. Both cards have a gold textured mat beneath the patterned papers.
The speech bubbles were made on my laptop and printed. I decided to ink the speech bubble lightly with Vintage Photo to give it a more vintage look.

I read and appreciate all your comments.
Oh, I love this, it's hilarious! I do love it when elegant, classy images are teamed with modern, snarky sentiments.
ReplyDeleteRe the commenting problem, I had the same a few weeks ago. Is your Blogger account linked to a Yahoo email address? Mine was, and several days of frantic googling led me to a carefully concealed page on Yahoo that said one of their latest spam prevention efforts is to prevent emails sent from Yahoo accounts from being sent through other sites - they all have to be sent through your actual Yahoo email page. As commenting on blogs generates an email, Yahoo was effectively preventing us from commenting. The only way I could find to solve it was to change the email account I use for Blogger and Google. Whish was a right pain in the you-know-where and I felt very much like your "White Christmas" lady at the end of it - but at least I can comment again.
Jane - thank you so much for this - it sounds like this could be the solution! I'll have to wait as I've got a ton of stuff to do at the moment but when I have time, I'll give that a go! I'll let you know. Thanks for the information - I am so, so grateful! xx
DeletePS - I even have to 'prove I'm not a robot' to comment on my own blog!!
Hi Carole this is a stunning card I love it. That is a brilliant sentiment. Take care. Hugs Jackie
ReplyDeleteYour cards are not only beautiful, they are FUN! Thank you so much for sharing them with us at A Vintage Journey! Hugs!
