AALL & Create: Don't Be Late Notebook

 Hello!

For my GDT post at AALL & Create this week I have made an altered notebook cover.

I always need little books to jot things down and recently, as I was chatting with a crafty friend, I realised that there are so many things going on online now that we have lockdown, that sometimes I forget about them.  Perfect.  I decided to make an important dates book. I can write down any workshops that I'm attending, online 'lives', zoom meetings, DT deadline dates and so on.

I started out with a hard back, spiral bound book. I made a front and back cover. Here is what it looks like once finished

***

This is the front with the #446 I'm Late rabbit looking at his fob watch. My sentiment reads 'do not be late' - something which I am not so good at. I am, I'm afraid, normally on the last minute with everything.

Here's a close up of the rabbit and background. Isn't he fabulous - I coloured his check jacket with Copic markers and clear heat embossed him. He is grounded with #6 Washi Tape and the sentiment is made from Chit Chat stickers and Label Letters, both from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology range.

The back of the journal features the #445 Dashing Crow. Isn't he majestic!
He has a little colour from Copic markers and is also clear embossed.

Here is how I created my project:

1. I cut card to size to fit the notebook front and back - the back has eyelets for the elastic band, so I had to measure and punch those.
2. I sprayed Distress Oxide in Antique Linen onto the card.
3. I laid the #113 Lotza Squares stencil over and sprayed with Distress Oxide in Speckled Egg.
4. I stencilled #113 Lotza squares with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide.
5. I stamped some Speckled Egg #375 Reverse Squares into the Speckled Egg stencilled squares .
6. I added stamping along the edges using #375 Reverse Sqares and #338 Background Noise.
***

7. I stamped #434 Newsprint Numbers in Versamark and applied Antique Linen Distress Glaze to heat emboss.
8. I used #6 washi tape to add words for grounding both the rabbit and the crow.

9.  I stamped #446 and #447, fussy cut them, partly coloured them with Copics and clear embossed.
10. They were adhered to the front and back panels.
11.White Posca Pen splatters were applied.
12. The edges of the cards were inked with Vintage Photo and Black Soot.
13. The front and back panel were adhered to the notebook with red tape and liquid glue.
