* ArtsyStamper: Little Sparrow

Hello!

Today sees the start of a new challenge at the Artsystamper Challenge Blog. 
Each challenge runs for two weeks and starts on the first and third Monday of the month. 

The theme for this challenge is Things with Wings.

I decided to make a spinner card using the sweet sparrow stamp from Nesting Sparrows and one of the papers from Aster Garden Paper Pack.

I used the coloured sparrow and printed him twice, reversing one of the stamps, so that I could place them back to back with a piece of silicone elastic thread through the centre to suspend him.

I printed the Green Gelli Aster Paper three times. One was printed as it comes and the other two were made more transparent, so that the colours are more subtle. The paler papers were used for the inside of the card. The original paper was inked around the edges and I added some stamping - a border of tiny leaves using second generation stamping with Versafine Shady Lane ink. I also added some script in Versafine Misty Morning. I matted the background on to black paper and attached it to the front of the card.

Next I die cut a circle from the front of the card and inked around the edge. On the back of the front piece, I attached the thread, making sure the bird could spin, and placed the paler paper (now with a die cut circle) over the fastenings.

The inside of the card also has Aster Garden paper and a die cut sentiment from Beverley's Rose Stamp Set.

To finish the front of the card I printed and cut two asters from the Aster Garden set and adhered them on foam pads, for some dimension, in the bottom left corner. The 'Let Your Spirit Soar' sentiment is from the Nesting Sparrows Stamp Set.
